We ended up driving down a long dirt road that eventually lead to an extremely long, dirty, gravel driveway. We turned onto it. I didn't know where or why we were going up it but I sure did want to know. I asked Ray, "Where are we going?" He just looked at me and looked away. "I asked you a question, are you gonna answer?" I said. "I told you we are just making an extra stop. I need to go see a friend real quick." He responded. "Oh" I replied in a shaky voice. The long drive way eventually lead to an old, but pretty mansion. It was huge. It was made from logs.

We hopped out of the monster truck and started walking up the long stairs. There were about 30 stairs and they were wooden like the house. There was nothing around the house. I was in the middle of no where surrounded by a field.

We finally got to the top of the stairs and reached the porch. We walked over to the door and Ray knocked. He didn't knock normally though. It was a loud, rough, bang. The door was creaky. It made an awful shrieking noise. The loudness of the noise made my ears hurt, but it didn't seem to bother Ray. The door was open completely now. There was a tall man standing at the door.

He had on work boots just like Ray's. His jeans were light blue and had red stains in them. You could tell they were old jeans. I guess he uses them to work in now. His t-shirt was black with red letters across his chest that spelled out the words, Don't run, Don't hide. I didn't understand the meaning of that. It was unusual. His face was coved by a white ski mask. All I could see were his eyes and mouth. His lips were dry and you could tell he bit them, a lot. His eyes were a beautiful blue. They were like staring at the ocean at night with a slight glow coming onto it because the sun was rising. I wondered why he had on the mask though. Maybe he got burned or something.

The man gave Ray a guy hug. Like where they rap one arm around each other and hug like bears. The guy stepped back and motioned for us to come inside the house.

As I walked in I saw he kept the place pretty clean. It was tidy and smelt clean. He had a small kitchen, like one you would find in an apartment not in a mansion. We walked on past the kitchen and entered a extremely long corridor. It was covered in old photographs. I guess it was his family in the pictures. There were thirteen doors down this hallway. Seven on the right and six on the left.

We continued on down to the living room. As we entered I thought I saw someone run. But when I looked around no one was in there but us. Ray and the man sat down and started talking about work so I zoned out in my own little world. It was cold in the house. Not really cold but it was chilly. Ray and the man both smoked and eventually the living room was filled with smoke. I ended up dosing off. I guess I was tired.

When I awoke Ray was standing up starting to leave. I stood up and walked behind him. We made it to the door and Ray hugged me. I wondered why, so I asked, "What was that for?" He responded, "Your staying here." I looked around in confusion and I was sort of hurt that he'd leave me here with a man I didn't know. "Why?" I asked, my voice shaky and cracking. He just looked at me and started to open the door to walk out. I tried to rush out so I wouldn't have to stay but the man grabbed my arm and screamed "listen to him, he! You're staying!" I started fighting and pulling away, but I couldn't get away. I don't know why I just had a bad feeling and started screaming frantically and ranting on and on saying, "Ray! No please don't leave me! Please! He's going to kill me! Please no! Ray!" Hot, wet tears starred falling down my face as I watched Ray not look back, not even make a single move to help me. I watched in terror as he just walked out of the house.

I was left alone. In a strange house. With a man I didn't know.
