1. Emma - main Character ; Discovers city with best friend Ethan
2. Ethan - bestfriend of Emma ; loves reading and is a total nerd
3. Lexi - Popular, pretty, and average girl who sleeps with every boy in town ; currently dating Joshua ( not for long)
4. Joshua - Lexi's boyfriend ; Jock , loves football and getting drunk with the team
5. Hazel - Also Emma's best friend since 1st grade. Doesn't really agree with most of the things Emma does, but decides to go along with it because she will get forced into anyway
6. Mr. Krump - Mr. K is the guy Emma and her followers run into and get directions from
7. The mermaids - The mermaids are their guides
