It was a warm morning. Shadow lazily walked across the room to the porch of the apartment. Her parents were still asleep. She let out a large sigh as she sprawled herself over the fold-up chair. her throat felt parched but she didn't move. The sun felt warm upon her exposed legs and arms. Staring out on the nearby neighborhood she wondered what her new life would be like. her mother began the early morning routine of ordering her around.

"Shadow please make the coffee, and don't make it so strong this time." she snapped. Shadow walked inside with a masked smile.

"Yes ma'am" she said. Her father came out of the room hands over eyes.

"Good lord shadow shut the blinds it's to bright in here!" he yelped. Shadow rolled her eyes as she looked down to the floor and walked over to the balcony. Shutting the blinds it became dark and gloomy with nothing but a candle and a small lamp to light up the small apartment space. She went back  to brewing her mother's coffee with a sinking heart. Later that morning her mother sent her down the road to the store for ingredients for her to make her lunch and dinner. it was her entire life. She couldn't wait to get the internet back to talk to her online friends. She also couldn't help but be full of anxiety for school to start. The scars she carried in her heart could be much help.she came home to her parents fighting again. Her mother ran over and slapped her over the head knocking her and the groceries to the ground.

"You are 5 minutes late and i'm hungry. get in there and do your job fro this family!" she barked. Shadow picked up all the tumped over groceries and walked into the cramped and claustrophobic kitchen. it was still very much dark in the apartment. after she made the meals for her parents she scurried to her room with her phone. She messaged her online friends and pretended everything was just fine. just as she drifted off to sleep she had sobbed till her mind had fallen into a trance. She then fell deep into a slumber.
