My mornings are horrible. The always begins with me pulling my black converse on and tying back my waist length black curls. I walk over to my dresser and apply a thick layer of eyeliner on my unusual eyes. I, unlike many people, have one golden eye and one bright blue eye. One of my many unique features. Pulling on my black Iron Maiden shirt, I walked over to the computer desk. I opened it and type the password. 'Loading Your Personal Settings' flashed across the screen with a colorful tune. I quickly checked my Facebook before grabbing my bag and heading downstairs. My brother stood in the doorway of the refrigerator with a chicken leg sticking out of his mouth, a glass of orange juice in one hand, and a leftover taco in the other.

"Desean? Are you brain dead!?" I asked agitated. That taco is for my lunch! He answered with a hurmpgh.

"What?" He asked with a mouthful.

"That was for my lunch!" I whined. I lunged for the taco and he quickly moved. Realizing that my taco was unable to be saved, I gave up. I wasn't getting that taco back.

"When is Sam coming to pick you up for work?" I asked, grieving my taco.

"I dunno. When is Josh coming to pick you up for school?" Josh...that name gives me chills.

"Dunno," I replied shrugging. Desean was pulling the bone of the chicken from his mouth when I heard Josh pull up in the driveway. Desean rolled his eyes as Josh knocked on the door. I hopped up and kissed my big brother's forehead before grabbing my bag and leaving.

Josh was dressed in a pair of thick and worn combat boots, a matching Iron Maiden tee, and black jeans. We almost matched except for the fact that I was wearing converse and a skirt. His shaggy brown hair was laying in his eyes. He kissed my forehead.

"I was thinking, Short Stop," he said. It is never a good idea when he thinks. "On our way to school we should play 21 questions. There's a lot of things I don't know about you." Like my name? Josh has always called me short stop. From when we were young. I was like eight when he started calling me that. He was twelve. I nodded my head. After strapping himself in and starting the car, he began 'interrogating' me.

"Why do you live with your 21 year old brother?" He asked.

"My mother died of a heart problem and my father left when I was young."

I replied. My mother has been dead for a ten years.

"What is your real name?"

"Iona Grace Deapree," I replied.

"Wow."

"Wow what?" I asked.

"Your name is so weird!"

"And you aren't?"

"Touché." He said in a fake accent. I laughed."Okay moving on," he said."Remind me why you have to where contacts at school?" I rolled my eyes and looked at him.

"I have one gold eye and one blue eye!" I said.

"So? I like them!" He argued back. I, again, rolled my eyes.

"Okay...do you have any secrets?" He asked.

"No."

"Who is the most amazing, loving guy in the world?" He asked with an eyebrow arched looking at me.

"My b-"

"Boyfriend I suppose?" He cut in.

"No. Brother." He looked a little shocked. Again, I laughed.

"Hurph. I will remember that when you want to drag me through the mall." My jaw hit the floor board.

"No!!!!!! That's not fair!!!! Aghhh!" I yelled as we pulled into the parking lot of the school. He began to throw me my contacts, but stopped.

"Go one day without them, please?" He asked. Why not?m

"Okay. ONE DAY." I repeated. I got out and took his hand. People started to stare at me. Josh do something only he would do. While my eyes had the attention, Josh leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back and missed the bell. One thing that always happened? Wren.

"You guys sound like two angry seals fighting over a grape." Leave it to Wren to say something like that. Wren is my closest friend, and is permanently blind since birth.

"Wren, you have no clue! You can't see!" Josh argued, walking to her side to take her arm.

"Tell me something I don't know." She said. I laughed.
