Can't get Involved

Chapter Two

Yay! You get two chapters in one day! Enjoy!

~Eren POV~

"Mikasa! I gotta leave, the clinic needs me to come in for a couple hours!" I don't hear a reply and assume she's already asleep. I open the junk drawer to find a pen and paper. After a couple minutes of shuffling everything around and getting frustrated, I found what I was looking for. I write a quick note explaining where I'm going and the time I'll be back. She will probably call me as soon as she wakes up anyway.

I slip on some shoes and a jacket. It's the middle of fall right now. I love this time of year, but not as much as winter. In the winter, you can warm yourself up with hot chocolate and big puffy coats. In the summer, it feels like your being burned alive. You can't be cool unless your swimming or inside an air conditioned home. You can put on more clothes to be warm but you can't do anything when you're hot.

I start walking to my car unlocking it in the process. I open the door and slip in the drivers seat. Turning the key in the ignition, I hear the car come to life. I turn out of the parking lot and make my way to the clinic.

~At the clinic~

"Eren!" Oh no, here we go again. I made sure I was ready for this as I was pulling in the parking lot.

"Eren! Eren! Eren!!~" Hanji runs, full speed, straight for me. She stretches out her arms to pull me into a bone crushing hug.

"Hey! Hanji! Let go of the poor kid, his face is turning blue." She lets me go and I stumble back, trying to get air into my lungs.

"Thanks," I take another deep breath. "Erwin."

"No problem. Hanji come here I need you for something." Erwin says before turning around and disappearing into a room with Hanji skipping shortly after. I walk over to the front desk to see how many patients we've had over the past week. We don't get many patients, which is why we don't have many nurses or doctors. Me and Hanji are the only doctors here. Erwin, Petra, and Marco are all nurses. We all help each other a lot, inside the clinic and out.

"Hey Marco, how has your day been? Glad you get the day off tomorrow?" I ask trying to spark up a conversation.

"Pretty good, I'm happy I can get a full night of sleep tonight, with classes and working here my schedule is really busy." He says with a smile. He's always smiling no matter what the situation is.

"That's good. How were things here when I was gone?"

"Fine, Hanji was being...well, Hanji. She got the front desk phone somehow and non-stop called you. I tried to stop her but, you know how she is." He laughs then takes a sip of an energy drink I've never heard of. I can't drink anything that says it will make you energized, they have a reverse affect and make me tired. One time Erwin found me laying on my desk, drooling on my papers after I drank one.

"Yeah. Well, I got some paperwork to fill out in my office. I'll be in there if you need me." He nods, showing me he heard me. I really was just going to sleep. Someone will come get me if something comes up.

And that's the second chapter. I know it's kinda slow but I will be uploading chapter three later tonight and that's where Levi comes in! I'm busy all day cuz we have an open house so I decided to give you guys this chapter cuz it's been a few days over what I said. I just got black ops 3 Friday night so I've been playing a lot.
