💕Picture at the Top is Scott, Cam, and Baby Lillian💕

I wake early to the sound of my phone ringing. I look at the caller ID and see that Karen is the one who is responsible for the lack of my rest.
"Hello?" I answer with a groggy voice.
"Cammie, I'm so sorry. I know you're never going to speak to me again so I'll let you know from the beginning that you are my very best friend and I love you. I hate myself so much and I deserve every bit of what you're about to...."
"Karen, slow down. Tell me what's going on," I say cutting off her speech.
"I can't find Lilly! I can't find her! She's gone! She's gone! I hate myself! I hate myself! I hate myself," Karen sobs over and over again.
"What do you mean you can't find her? Where did she go? Where was she last? She has to be somewhere nearby!" I yell.
"I've looked everywhere for her! She's not here. I need you to come help me look for her!"
          "I'll be there in ten!"
My heart feels like it's about to explode out of my chest. I feel so lost right now that's it hard to think clearly. I don't know what I'll do if I can't find my daughter. I lost the love of my life and the only thing that helped me stay strong was my baby. If I lose my baby, it'll be like losing both Scott and Lillian at once; I won't be able to handle it. I already can't breathe right, just thinking that she might possibly be gone. If she really is, I think I'll die.
"Thank goodness you're here! I've looked everywhere for her. She's not in the house and she's not in the yard! We looked at the park and at the closest stores around here! I walked all the way to the mall for Petes sake! Where else could she be?" Karen pleads with me.
"Where was she when you last saw her?" I ask.
"She was in the yard playing with the ginger tabby cat that always comes around here. I went to the restroom for one second and she was gone! I don't know where she could be!" Karen whimpered.
"Karen, we have to find my baby! I can't lose her, I can't! I cant lose her! I can't, Karen!" I sob until I can't breathe.
"I'm sorry, Cam! We need to call the police!" Karen says.
           ...........................................
"There's nothing else we can do right now, Ms. Dawson," the police officer informs me.
"You have to find her! You have to find my baby!" I yell.
"I promise you that we will do everything in our power to find her. I wouldn't ever give up on it. If I ever hear anything, I will let you know," he says.
"I can't just go home without my baby. How will I live with myself? How can I be without her? A life without my precious Lilly is not a life at all. Without her, I'm dead. I'm not even alive. I'm dead and I've gone to hell!" I scream, suddenly realizing the horror that has become my reality. I can't live like this; I just can't.
         .............8 Years Later...........
"Yes, of course I can make it in today. I'm available at all times. I can't wait to start this new job!" I say enthusiastically to the lady on the phone.
"Well, if you come in today you'll have to start on Monday; that's two days from now. Can you handle that?" the voice asks.
"Of course I can. It'll be great, actually!" I let her know. "I will be so happy to be a new teacher!"
"Well that's great, Ms. Dawson! I'm Mrs. Keebler! Welcome to Sydney High School!"
          "Thanks so much!" I say.
I have a lot of preparing to do! I didn't think that I'd be going in on the same week that I called the school, let alone the same couple of days! I'm so excited, yet so scared! What will the kids think of me? What will my teacher's assistant be like? Will I be a good teacher? I decide to call Karen about all of this!
"Karen! You won't believe this!" I say loudly into the phone.
"Oh goodness! What is it this time?"
"The school wants me to come in on Monday! Can you believe it?"
            "Oh, Cammie, that's great!"
"Yeah, but do you think I'll be alright? Do you think the kids will like me?"
"Cammie! Calm down! This is what you've wanted for so long. Let yourself live in the luxury that's supposed to come with your dream job!"
          "You sure?" I ask.
          "Of course!" Karen screeches.
"Okay, thanks, Kare Bear!" I tease.
This is my one and only shot to start a new life and forget about my old one, I tell myself as I drive to Sydney High. I need to try to move on from the incident that happened eight years ago. Of course I will always love my child. I'll never forget her or my lovely boyfriend; I just want a shot to live a life that isn't full of pain. I want my chance to meet someone new, and I'll start with my teachers assistant who I'll be meeting today. It's a perfect opportunity.
         .............................................
I'm nervous about the way the people at the school will think of me. I sit in the office chewing my nails, hoping to pass the time.
"Ms. Dawson, I'd like you to come back to my office to talk," the principal, Mr. Karajan, tells me.
I stand up and walk to the back of the hallway, following the stout man in front of me. My knees wobble from the nervousness that is coursing through my body. I don't know how I'm ever going to get through today, let alone Monday when I meet all of the children.
"Now, Ms. Dawson, I heard you would be good material for a teacher. We have two open spots, sixth grade and eighth grade. Which would you prefer?" Mr. Karajan asks.
My mind instantly shoots to my daughter, and the fact that she would be entering the eighth grade this year.
"I would like to teach eighth grade science if you don't mind." I say quietly, hoping that the man accepts my choice.
"Wooh, thank goodness you said that because our other teacher that we want to hire, Mrs. Mosley, wanted to teach sixth grade. That settles things up nice and easy."
"That's good!" I say, trying to get on the principals good side.
"Indeed it is! And without further a due, I would like you to meet your new teachers assistant. Here is the key that will let you in your new classroom. It is in the 700 hall, and he will be in there waiting to meet you" Mr. Karajan informs me.
He? My assistant is a he? Wow? That wasn't expected!
I walk to the 700 hall, hoping to find that the assistant will be nice. Possibly even charming. Oh, what am I thinking? I need to get those thoughts out of my head before I let myself down. I get to my room, 713, and unlock the door. I push the door inward, and it creaks a bit. I don't see anyone at first, but as soon as my feet step across the threshold, I see a very handsome man that introduces himself as Harry Styles!
"Hello Ms. Dawson. I'm Mr. Styles and I will be your teachers assistant for this school year. It's very nice to meet you."
My jaw drops open in shock! Not only is he very cute, but he is polite as well. He has brown curls that fall just above his shoulders. He has stunning emerald green eyes, and he has a charming white smile that is so perfect that it almost blinds you. I suddenly realize that I'm staring just a little too hard. I blush and extend my hand for a shake.
"Hi, I'm Ms. Dawson. It's nice to meet you as well."
"Well, I told you my first name. Why don't you tell me yours?" Harry asks with a wide smile on his face.
"I'm Cam, but you can call me Cammie if you want!" I let him know. He is so handsome that I find it hard not to think about if he has a girlfriend or not.
"Well, Cammie, do you think it would be alright if I had your number? You know, just in case there's something I need to do for you. As your assistant of course," he says as his cheeks turn a vivid crimson color.
"Sure." I say, and log my number into his phone.
"Thanks Camo! Wait, can I call you Camo?" he asks, suddenly aware of the fact that he just made up a nickname for me that I've probably never heard before.
"Yeah, no problem. As long as I can call you Mr. Handsome," I say with a certain feistiness that I thought went away a long time ago when my family did.
"Sure! I actually like it. It's got a sort of ring to it," he says as his face flushes a deeper crimson.
"Haha. See ya Monday, Mr. Handsome Harry!" I call over my shoulder as I'm walking out the door.
"See ya, Camo," I hear him yell down the hallway.
