He clasps his hands as nervousness settles deep within his core, he couldn't deny the fact that yet again he had been misleading his followers, he couldn't blame them for their current thoughts of him being a traitor and betrayer. But they had been summoned, all for him to fix his distraught behaviour.

''A vow had been made of my Luna being presented, unfortunately death had braced her soul all too soon'' Maya gapes at his words placing a sheet of uneasiness and pain over her heart that lived on his breath.

''I would never be able to seek enough forgiveness for my uncalled for actions that has brought upon many deaths, but I promise to strive for this pack, to place both heart and soul in every decision taken!'' His eyes now tear filled blink dramatically in hope to go unnoticed.

''We will only be at peace, when there is a supporting hand in our pack! We want our promised Luna to secure our lives from here on! We cannot trust a once traitor!'' A gruff voice emits from the crowd but remains hidden, knowing well the consequences of questioning the Alpha.

His jaw firmly clenches at the remark, Maya's gaze remains fixed on her trembling mate, she never intended for him to be placed in this much trouble, ''I stand before you as your Alpha and not a traitor! I have taken a stand and admitted to my past actions!'' He roars angrily, he was not one to explain what he felt.

''Then why is she alive?'' A shrewd voice follows a man revealing himself from the crowd, he inhales deeply and mentally awards himself for the courageous esteem he had now built, ''Why is Maya, rumored to be your mate, still standing before us today with merely scratches that will fade in a day and a breath so full of life on the same paving as you? Why have you not tortured her for all the pain and deaths she'd brought not too long ago?!'' His eyes deeply gazing into the now angered pupils of the Alpha.

He knew the man's words were true, Maya didn't deserve life, nor did she deserve the title of being his mate, but he still couldn't deny the unwanted truth, he loved her.

She forced him to portray drastic traits of violence on her deceitful body, but he winced each time he thought of her screams or tears, he could and would never allow her to face harm, but right now, he also had a pack to answer and protect.

A pack that seeks their painful deaths to be avenged. He exhales and glares at the awaiting man beneath him, ''Maya is only alive for us, my team and I have been looking into the sudden as well as past attacks linked to her, as soon as we find her strength, which is Blake, I assure you, they will both receive their long awaited trial'' he gulps at the courage needed for his speech, ''Death'' the word itself promised his ruin, he knew he would never be able to kill her, he could only hope that Blake would never show.

''And how do we fall on your words Alpha? What proof have you to offer'' another voice emerges from the silent gathering.

He scoffs slightly agitated, he knew he never deserved this treatment from his pack, ''You question the leader that admits his fault! That seeks forgiveness so desperately! You force him to be the beast he is slowly changing into and yet it isn't enough to settle the conflict arousing in your heads! You want proof that Maya is not my mate and that I stand for this pack and not as a rival?! Then alright! A month from now, the night of the full moon, a banquet will be held to honor the Alpha, in which I will personally choose the leading Luna of our pack, that too from our very own'' Maya's eyes glisten with gentle streaks of tears at his words.

''I promise you, Blake will be found before the night of the full moon and both, Maya and him will bear witness to the ceremony of my hand picked mate! And if I do not keep my word, then I will, without hesitation, surrender my title to my younger brother Troy'' he winces from the pain devouring his heart, while her soul is set ablaze by his drastic words.

''So villagers, prepare your daughters, for the full moon, has nearly arrived, finishing my past and welcoming my future'' his eyes meet the paved floor as loud cheers immerse from the people beneath him.
