Bomi sets down her bag beside her desk and lowers her head, letting her chin touch the surface. She heaves a sigh when she hears her phone ring from inside her bag. She grabs her phone and looks at the caller's name. Ah... it's Sunggyu oppa, she said inside her head.
"Yeoboseyo?" she asked when she picks up the phone.
"Yeoboseyo?" the voice on the other line asked.
"What is it Sunggyu oppa?" she asked, scratching her head.
"Oh Bomi. I just want to know how you guys are doing. Is everything fine?" her brother asked.
"Uh yeah. Everything's fine," she replied.
"Is that so? That's all. Okay see-," Just before Sunggyu could end the call, Bomi stopped him.
"Wait oppa!"
"What?" he asked.
"I just remembered that Kim Myungsoo-" she was cut off by his brother.
"Did you just say Kim Myungsoo?" he asked quite surprised and Bomi swore she could hear his voice was a bit pique.
"Yeah. He said that you and him were friends since children. Yesterday was my first time meeting him," there was no reply. "Oppa? Yah Sunggyu oppa?"
She heard a grunt from the other line. "You okay?" Bomi asked.
"Yeah. Yeah..." he grunted again. "I'll call you back..."
"Yah-" the call ended. "Aish... calling suddenly then suddenly hanging up. Genius!" she glares at her phone and shuts it loudly.
"Why are you so angry in the morning?" a voice asked from behind. Bomi turned to the voice and there was no surprise to who it was.
"Ah Namjoo..."
"Annyeong Bomi," Namjoo smiled at her friend and sat beside her.
"Where's Eunji?" Bomi asked.
"Take a guess," Namjoo grinned as she replied to Bomi. Bomi looks behind Namjoo and Eunji enters her view. She was talking with Hoya, her crush. As Bomi observed them it looked like they were flirting with each other but weren't. Bomi knows the two of them. Eunji isn't the type of person who'd sashay her hips in public or trifle with people. If she was, then Bomi wouldn't have befriended her. Bomi smiles to herself, feeling happy that they're getting along. She focuses back to Namjoo.
"So who's Kim Myungsoo?" Namjoo asked with a sly grin on her face.
"I don't know," Bomi replied serenely.
"Stop joking."
"I'm not."
"Really. Stop it. Who is he?"
"I'm really not joking with you. He suddenly appeared yesterday," she look at Namjoo, who had a confused expression.
"I don't get you," she pouted.
Bomi chuckles. "There's always next time."
"Then we'll be heading home. Goodbye then," the friends bow to their teachers after saying goodbye.
Eunji and Namjoo stretched their bodies as they walked along the hallway. "You both seem tired," Bomi said.
"School is tiring that's why," Eunji laughed.
"I know," Namjoo added.
"Let's eat before we go home," Bomi invited. The two girls nodded.
As they exited the building from afar, they could see girls crowd forming in frot of their school gate. The three noticed that the crowd was a groupd of girls being boisterous in front of their school gate.
"What are they up to?" curious, the three look at each other and decides to go see what was the commoton about.
Bomi taps on one of the girls' shoulder. Instead of getting a reply, she was shoved by one of the girls. she got pushed and pushed until she landed in front of someone.
"Aish! You girls that hurt!" Bomi complained.
"Bomi are you alright?" Eunji asked from afar.
"Yeah!" she replied.
"What are you doing?"
"What?" once she turn her head to the voice she was surprised. "Myungsoo-sii!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing here?" she asked, getting up from ground and removing the dirt from her clothes.
"I was here to see the school and your dad asked me to come get you," he replied.
"You know him?" Namjoo asked from behind.
"Uhh yeah.. sort of," Bomi replied. "He's Kim Myungsoo," she introduced Myungsoo to her friends.
"Oh Kim Myungsoo," Namjoo grinned. Myungsoo ignored the group of girls surrounding them. Bomi felt that their eyes were staring daggers at her. "Shal we go?" Bomi asked nervously.
"Yeah," he turned his heel and walked away. Bomi apologized to her friends and they let her go with a smile.
Their walk home was awkward.
Both of them kept their mouths shut as they walked. Bomi fidgetted not knowing what to talk about. She just continued to walk behind him. I better strike up a conversation, she thought.
"Myungsoo-ssi," Bomi called.
"What?" he replied coldly.
That was scary... "When are you going to start school?" she asked.
"Tomorrow," he replied.
"Oh so fast," she said surprised.
"I enrolled before my parents left."
"You're going to enjoy our school! We have a lot of events and I'm sure you'll get along with everyone. You're the same age as me, right?" she asked.
"I'm a year older," he replied.
"Is that so... oh and-"
"Will you stop your yabbering for a bit?" he said when he turned to her annoyed. She was shocked.
"What?" she stuttered.
"I said quit babbling about useless things."
"Useless... I was just trying to converse with you! What's so wrong with that, huh?" she argued. Myungsoo bit his lips still annoyed his face making a weird smile.
"I just came to pick you up. I did not ask you to talk to me," he argued too.
"Well say so sooner!" Bomi strides angrily, marching past the angry Myungsoo. And I thought he was a nice guy. He's just a guy with a bad mouth!
With a long distance between them, the two walked home away from each other. Bomi's blood was boiling. Myungsoo walked as if the argument was nothing to him.
What an annoying woman, he thought.
