"I kiss the scars on her skin. I still think you beautiful and I don't..." I turn off the alarm on my phone that is playing A match into water by my all time favorite band. I slowly rise from my bed to the bathroom to get ready for my job. Working at Hot Topic had its advantages like getting discounts and listening to good music all day. But waking up at 7 am is not one of them. I work from 8:30 am-3:00 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. That sounds pretty miserable but it pays the bills and feeds me so I really shouldn't be complaining. At least I'm not in a tiny cubical or homeless and unemployed.
I step into my shower for about 15 minutes, letting the warm water caress down my back. After getting out, I blow-dried my long, auburn hair and furiously straighten it because my hair just doesn't like to work with me. I put on a little bit of nude eyeshadow and a lot of eye liner and mascara to make my blue eyes pop and use a lot of concealer to cover up the bags under my eyes. When you have to work almost everyday at Hot Topic and still babysit kids, you barely get sleep. Being an adult sucks. Once satisfied with my face, I headed over to my closet to pick out a red and blue plaid button down shirt, navy skinny jeans, a red and black studded belt, grey and white converse, and my favorite red beanie. Realizing that I have about 30 minutes left, I hurrying put on a bunch of bracelets that cover my music heart tattoo. I put my anchor necklace that was my mother's around my neck. I run down the stairs without tripping and grab a banana for breakfast and put my phone with a Beatles case in my skull backpack and grab my car keys. I walk out of my apartment and get into my 1960 Light Pink Cadillac Convertible after locking my door. That car cost a lot but it was worth ever cent.
On my way to work, I stop at Starbucks for a coffee. Caffeine is the only this that is keeping me awake right now. After driving with one hand on the wheel and the other holding up my venti coffee up to my face, I successfully made it to Hot Topic without a car accident. I made in record time with 10 minutes earlier that when I'm suppose to come in. After stamping my time in, I put my name tag on announcing to the world that Skylar Jones is alive. I can already feel the start of a long and boring day. Let's just hope that I don't kill anyone or myself after this. Especially because I have a babysitting job after this.
(Sorry if this chapter was short. I'm just figuring out how to do the links and stuff and this is my first official story that has been published. I hope you like it and if you don't, I promise that it will get better. Have some hope in this story and me because I have no clue what I am doing. Also, ignore the incorrect tenses because I'm too busy/lazy to fix them. Well, thank you for reading this story and I promise that there will be more to come. Please like or favorite or comment. They make me feel better. Love ya guys! <3)
(I have this story on quotev under Firefly1099 and I have to say that it is so much better. That has pictures for it)
