"Go on, Maeve! So what if you don't make it? It's worth a shot."
"You'll get to hang with the popular peeps in your grade, just like me!"
"Oh, I just know you'll make the team! Gran and Pop will be so excited to see you play! Oh, and Aunt Lidya, too! And Uncle Victor, and Annelise, and... oh that's besides the point! Have fun with it!"
My dad, little sister, and mom all wanted me to try out for William Taft Middle School's volleyball team. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't against the idea, but it was all so much pressure, and I had so much school work, and what if I didn't make it? Everyone would be so disappointed.
So I said no.
The next year, I was still at Taft, but I would not be in the year following, so I thought, What the heck! The worst that can happen is I don't make the team.
I decided that I would finally take the risk of trying out for the team that year. Eigth grade at Taft wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be, and so, finally with a definite decision in mind, I went to the first day of tryouts.Hi everyone! This is the first book that I've ever decided to go through with writing on Wattpad. Hope you enjoy the ride!
Adoringly,
A.J.
