~A Note From You Narrator~
I was not the only one who died that night. Me, my best friend Lucas Montero, and our girlfriends Marlee and Leah were all in the car when it happened. Lucas was driving us all home. We were on the freeway, not going above the speed limit, at about 11:30 at night. Then, something happened. There was a guy coming up behind us, going really fast. They later found out that he was drunk, but we didn't know that at the time. To make a long story short, he hit us, and we went flying. They say the car fell down a ditch, but I don't really remember. Marlee and Leah survived with semi-serious injuries, but Lucas and I didn't make it. Lucas had a brother named Nico. Nico is a very important character in this story. This is the part where he comes in.

As you can imagine, both Leo and Beni slept horribly that night. Tossing and turning seems too cliche, but that accurately describes what their night was like. Not a good situation, because they both had to be up for school at 6:00. (Their school started at 7:30) That makes about 2 hours of sleep each, 'cause they didn't fall asleep til 3:30 or 4.
Beni thought school was a nightmare. It sure as hell felt like one when she first got to school and her locker was jammed. She banged on it a few times. She banged harder. She threw her science textbook at it. Nope. Still not working. The kid next to her began to give her funny looks. Coincidentally, the kid with the locker next to hers was Nico Montero. Lucas's brother. The one that I said was so important to the story.
Actually, it wasn't really a coincidence. Alphabetical locker and seating assignments had become a theme with teachers across America. So, that also meant that her and Nico sat next to eachother in all of the classes they had together. Beni didn't really care. She and Nico had never really been close. Since our parents were good friends, and me and Lucas hung out alot, Beni and Leo had spent alot more time with Nico then was exactly ideal.
Moving on.
Nico didn't look frightened until Beni threw her textbook at her locker. Its not every day that people throw textbooks at lockers, you know. Nico then backed away slowly. She stuck her tongue out at him and said, "If you're so smart, why don't you open it?" So, Nico walked over and fiddled with the locker for a minute or two. Then, he banged on it, and it opened. He smirked at her. This not improve Beni's mood. "Yeah, yeah, the kid's SOOOO smart just cuz he got my freakin' locker open," she mumbled under her breath. "Was that a thank you?" Nico asked. "You're really pushing it, kid," Beni growled. I got about 2 hours of sleep last night, and yesterday I got a note from an anonymous person who may or may not be a stalker/serial killer/pedophile." "You got an anonymous note too?" Nico asks.
