" Where am I?"
It's cold and wet here, the floor feels slippery against my skin. I open my eyes to see a large space before my eyes. I slowly turn my head around to view my surroundings. There are tall white columns, water pouring down from the top of the ceiling creating some sort of transparent wall. As I sit up, in front of me, I see some kind of throne with a strange mark resembling a trident at its centerpiece. I'm sitting on the staircase leading up to the throne. There's no one here, not a living soul is around. Where am I? I get up and start to walk toward the entrance, the wall of water disperses and light penetrates through the darkness. Before me was nothing but grassy field and sky. I hear water crashing down below. I notice now that the ground on which I stand on is floating in the sky as if this place were heaven and earth below. Below this floating island is a vast lake with clean, clear water and different fish swimming below. Where am I? Who am I? I don't remember anything. I look down at the body of water below me. The deep blue of the lake draws me in as if calling me. My foot slips of the edge of the island from leaning too close and I fall towards the water below. With a big splash, I had already realized I had fallen and am sinking sinking deeper and deeper. Do I remember how to swim? I look to the surface as I sink downward holding my breath. Air bubbles begin to leave my mouth. I'm going to drown. I let out my last breath of air, but nothing happened. I'm still alive and breathing, am I saved? No, I'm still in the lake's depths. Water and light begin to embody and swirl around me. I close my eyes to hide them from the emitting white light and when I open them again, I feel different. My legs are replaced with a tail and my back has spread forth feathered wings attached. My long aqua colored hair shimmers from the light glow from the surface. I remember now, I'm Poseidon, the one who rules over the waters and sea. In the back of my memory, I remember familiar figures, some I should remember, but I still can't make out who they are and what they mean to me. I swim back up towards the surface and spread my wings, soaring back up to the floating island. My transformation comes undone and I go back to wearing the dress I had on before I fell into the water. I look toward the distant places beyond this lake and see a whole world filled with curiosity and wonder. I wonder if I'll ever remember what happened before, but while I think this, I also think that this is only just the beginning of a long awaited journey.
