Officer Richard Fern,
With the departure of your daughter, Luca Fern, from our hospital last Thursday morning, a rather peculiar discovery was made. Being the only hospital on the island, certain items of concern are de-prioritized when there are an influx of patients. This was the case when a large bouquet of flowers was sent for Luca while she was still under surgery. They were left in the back room and the nurses didn't get around to taking them out until this afternoon, which in hindsight, is rather fortunate. Our nurses opened the note in hopes of finding an origin for this gift, and instead found a rather ominous message: you're still next
There was no signature.
Naturally, this was extremely worrisome to our staff. However, knowing that the perpetrator of the recent island crimes has been caught, I have urged the nurses to keep quiet until further instruction so as to not cause paranoia or alarm. I feel it is likely that this is a prank, but no precaution can be too great. Any unclaimed gifts left at the front desk is thrown away under usual circumstances but we have taken care to preserve this note in case it has value in investigation. Feel free to drop by my office any time in case this is of concern. I would also advise that Luca be notified in case she has any insight.
Cheers,
Dr. Spate
