My memory of the accident is very vague. All I remember are these words that still haunt me to this day, "Watch out Addie. They're coming." That's the part that scares me, who is they, and what do they want with me?
Imagine a computer or laptop with a virus. My mind is exactly what you're imagining, no memory or information.
It wouldn't make much a difference if i were both deaf and blind like Helen Keller. I would still feel lost and as if in the dark. But at least,if i was her, i would have my memory.
Today, i woke up in excruciating pain. I still felt dizzy from the long hours of surgery. but i kept wondering, who paid the expensive bill?
The kind woman in the light blue scrubs said i was unconscious for more than 20 hours, and when i came to, i was in a small, cold, sterile room. The drab grey color of the emergency room walls and the constant panicking of the doctors didn't fail to make me feel trapped and hopeless. The smell the room has-possibly medication or the smell of my blood on the cold, hard floors-float around in the air like a continuous presence, never leaving. I'm starting to think, lying there in an uncomfortable bed with a great pain in my head, that i will stay here, probably forever, hearing the annoying ticking of the obnoxious clock, tick-toking away , counting the last hours of my life. The plain walls tell stories of long painful deaths and the broken hearts of close friends and family members. As i looked to my left, i saw a couple of men in white lab coats and stripped ties and a few woman in white scrubs, pacing frantically all over the room after saying in the intercom, "CODE BLUE." and screaming, "BRADY CARDIA! BRADY CARDIA!"

he clock-which showed i miraculously lived another 5 hours -was now making the pain in my head, immensely painful. As my tired eyelids were about to enclose with each other , i heard a deep, gentle voice across the opposite side of the small, dreary room as a nice looking man with light blue scrubs entered through the door. It surprised me a bit, because it was the only voice that i heard that didn't sound in panic, his was more like.... shocked. His dark, rippling muscles hiding behind his long sleeve under shirt, was holding a clipboard, on it was a small stack of papers, and he was flipping and examining them with chocolate brown, gentle eyes.
"Adalyn.... Mae.... Thomas?"his eyes widen when he said those words. "you got hurt pretty bad. Took a dangerous blow to the head,"he added casually and kindly. "But you'll be alright...."he continued quite doubtfully. The tone of his voice made my heart drop 1 foot , like a heavy stone. Adalyn? Maybe he was referring to me. Me ?who...am I ?
He flashed a hopeful smile in my direction when he saw my bothered expression. And when he did, his smile slowly turned into a frown. And his happy expression turned into a confused and hurt one.
