Chapter Three

Chapter 3

We entered the Grand Hall. Its structure was like a theaters holding a large stage in the middle and seating all around.We were told to seat in the Junior area which was the top left wing.The Hall was split into four sections one for each grade. All around it was dark all except the small lights that lined the wall.

After minutes of small talk amongst ourselves a spotlight filled the stage. Gaining the attention  of all the students. All of a sudden rose petals swirled in the centre stage. When the petals finally settled a lady and a man stood there.The lady looked like a senior about the age of 19.She wore a dark blue dress embed with stars. The man looked to around the same age but slightly older. He wore a black shirt and pants with a dark blue cape with the same star design.

" Their part of the melting stars group" whispered Carly

In each grade that was taught magic ( only the Juniors and Seniors our taught magic everyone else learns about it other than that their taught normal highschool things )there were six classes.Each class was a team. At the end of the year each team would fight against each other in many categories.The event is call the Clash of Magics which is held in winter. The Melting Star had been the victories of last years event in the Junior category. They also tried out for the state finals but had lost in the first few rounds. Since they were the victories they are look as the strongest mages in the school. So they hosted many of the events of the school.

" Ladies and Gentlemen We are here to give you a warm and loving welcome to our fabulous school" pronounced the man.

" for all of you who are returning students we are happy to have you for another year and  for the new comers welcome we hope you will have a magical school year" chimed the lady

I saw the girl hide a giggle in her hand and heard many of the Seniors sigh and run a palm down their faces. I guess she's makes puns often or she may be a class clown.

"  Anyway We have prepared a lovely show for all of you and without further ado may the show begin" He exclaim

With a flash of flowers they were gone. Lights and music filled the stage. A woman with her hair pulled back in braid who wore a light blue dress walked up to the stage. Along with another woman and man following close behind her. The woman wore a dark red dress and had her jet black hair down. The man wore a dark green shirt with black pants.

" For our first act we will show two basic elements and one trait element" The woman with the light blue dress informed us and with that they began their act.

The speaker had ran her hand into her hair causing snowflakes to form in it. The other woman had touched her dress which turned to a flamed dress. For the man a thorn design appeared on his shirt.

"Hey guys she looks like Elsa but don't get mad just let it go " I whispered

" Aghh Emily please just not today " groaned Bella

" Frozen everywhere guys everywhere " whispered Carly

Soon Snowflakes filled the Hall as petals of all colors fell down from the ceiling. Fire circled the stage. They showed us many different tricks.  All the first and second year students looked on with aww. Also for the rest they seemed to be bored. They soon finished their act and took their bows and a new group of people appeared.

The group contained three guys and one girl. The guys wore leather and jean pants. The girl wore gloves along with a black top and jeans.

" Wasn't that just a lovely performance" clapped one of the guys

"  Indeed it was the elements are one of the first things you learn when starting magic they symbolize your personality along with other special traits each and all of you have" informed another guy

" Now we would like to show you something you gain in the beginning of your journey as Mage.
The familiar not only is a familiar a helper to your daily life it's a life time friend." Exclaimed the third guy

" A familiar can be anything to a normal animal, mythical animal, and much more. For this act we will show a mix of animals." said the girl

With that all four signaled their familiars. One guy held smoke colored dragon that was the size of his arm. The second guy's familiar was a dark brown unicorn. The third's was a white tiger. The girl held a fire falcon. They all used us what each of their familiars represent, what talents each held, and how they helped them in their daily lives. They soon bowed and walked of stage.

The woman who wore the star dress and along with man with star cape. Informed us that that was the end of their show. They asked if anyone had questions or an problems that they should go to the main office. They wished us well and said we could talk amongst ourselves in the entry hall until curfew which was 10 p.m.

So we walked out of the theater hall. We started talking to some of the other Juniors. I soon remembered I had to go find Drake. I said my goodbye to the people we were talking to and told my friends I would text them later.
