"But mom-" I tried " No buts Ethan you visit me everyday in this hospital " she blinked her dark Brown eyes exactly like mine filled with worried.

" Look I just don't want you to waste you're life away looking after me " She looked at me and her eyes bore into mine as she leaned up slightly in the hospital bed " I want you to go to school"  I snorted

" I already went to school " I replied smartly but inside my heart was breaking.

She laughed quietly over the constant beep of the heart monitor,grabbing my small hands in her equally small ones .  "I want you to go to college"

I gasped " But college costs money which we don't have and how am I supposed to check on you if I'm miles away" she smiled gently grabbing my face her dark brown almost black hair framed her face " Don't worry about me my sister will take care of me while your gone".

I frowned " But aunt Clara is in New York".

" Not so fast honey I'm right here " I whipped my head around and their standing in all her fair glory was my aunt "Auntie ! " I jumped out of my seat next to mom's bed running over to hug the life out of her.

" Woah Jesus don't suffocate me !" She laughed as I pulled back " And when did you get so tall " I rolled my eyes " I'm only 5'6 "

Aunt Clara was my favorite aunt out of my whole family well she practically the only family me and my mom had.

My aunt was pretty crazy compared to my calm mother even if they were twins.

We both sat down"Now Ethan -"

Knock knock

We all looked over at the door to see mom's nurse standing at the door with a warm smile on her face " Sorry to intrupt you guys but visiting hours will be over in a couple minutes"

My mom nodded yawning slightly " Thank you Joy " Joy nodded closing the door behind her.

" Now as I was saying Ethan I want you to go to college " I sighed here we go with this again.

As I was about to protest again aunt Clara me off "Your mother's right Ethan you have to do something with your life "

" But  mom -" I argued " Will be taken care of , she's in a hospital for god's sake " my aunt rolled her eye before crossing her arms and sitting back in the chair.

I grinned smugly " I didn't apply to any colleges " It was true as soon as I graduated from high school I got a job to help pay for mom's bills.

Clara smiled " Oh you don't have to worry about  that sweetie I already got you into a college"

I turned to her narrowing my eyes " Well a community college to be exact luckily they take late enrollees" she smiled back just as smugly.

I huffed " What about mom's bills !" My aunt smiled touching my cheek gently just as mom did before " Oh Ethan you don't have to worry about that anymore " she took a deep breathe   " I'm moving out here to California ,I got a job at one of the companies and I'll be making enough that I will be able to pay my sister's bills you see "

I held back tears ,on one hand I was happy that my aunt was moving out here but on the other hand I was worried about my mother.

I turned to my mother getting up and laying my head on her lap " Oh honey don't cry " I sniffled up at my mom.

I felt my aunt's hand on my back rubbing in soothing circles " Ethan you'll still be able to visit , the college is only a couple miles away so you'll still be able to see me on the weekends "

" But mom I can't just -"

Knock knock

I kept my head in my mother's lap as I heard joy " Time's you guys " 

" Thank you joy will be out in a minute "

I lifted my head up from my mom's lap " Are you sure mom ?"

I took a deep breath " Am I doing the right thing , I don't even know what I want to do or-" mom covered my mouth with her hands " You'll be  fine, I believe in you " and with that I let my aunt pull me out of the hospital room.
