It wasn't a prank they were pulling. It was a life-changer. Jenna and I headed over to HKR Records, which is where they record, and I was bombarded. Blaze ran up to me and pulled a blindfold over my eyes.

"What are you doing?" I shouted. I hated being in the dark; that's how some of my nightmares started.

"It's okay, Kat. I'm gonna be right next to you. We just want to show you something. Don't be scared." I relaxed as Blaze's breath fanned my ear. He held my hand and led me into what I guessed was a room. He removed the blindfold and I found myself in a studio room, facing a mirror. There was a guitar sitting on a stand and a microphone and headphones set up. I raised a questioning brow at the guys.

"Just sing," Colton advised, "Use the guitar and sing into the microphone."

"What do I sing?"

"Anything you want."

Feeling unsure, I picked up the guitar and adjusted the strap to fit me. I walked up to the microphone and cleared my throat. I was at a loss of what to sing. Finally, I decided on a classic rock song. One of my favorites: All Mixed Up by The Cars.

"She shadows me in the mirror. She never leaves on the light..." I sang. Everything faded away as I lost myself in the music. Before I knew it, I heard clapping. I opened my eyes and was surprised to see a woman standing there. She looked middle-aged, wearing a lilac blazer and skirt with a crisp white blouse underneath.

She stuck out her hand. "Rachel Leeds, manager of these ruffians," she said, referring to the boys, who were standing behind her smiling widely.

"Kat. Kat Montez," I introduced myself, as I shook her hand.

"Oh believe me, I know who you are. These boys have been going on and on about you! And darling, they had a reason to. You are fabulous!" I blushed, modestly. She held out a sheet of paper to me. I took it from her, and after reading it, looked up numbly at her. "I assume you know what this is?" she asked in her posh, northern accent.

"A-a record deal?"

"Correct! And I'm offering it to you! What do you say?"

My mouth opened and closed, and I had a feeling I resembled a fish.

"She says yes," Colton responded for me.

I nodded, not sure if this was real life or just a fantasy.

Rachel smiled and shook my hand again. "I'll be seeing you very soon!" She flounced off.

Blaze came and stood next to me. I shook myself out of my shock and jumped into his arms. Without thinking, I kissed him. On the lips. I immediately turned red and backed away, muttering apologies from behind my hair. I heard him chuckle and he raised my chin up. And he kissed me. On the lips. Oh my gosh. I kissed Blaze Parker! And he kissed me back!

Now, I don't know what's going to happen from here. I'm just gonna take it one day at a time. I don't know whether my career will thrive or plummet. I don't know where my relationship with Blaze will go. But I do know that I will make the best of everything and live my life to the fullest. As Gerard Way said, "Life is very, very short and you can choose to live it how you want. You can choose to dumb yourself down and not express yourself just so you can fit in, just so people won't dislike you. Or you can live." Honestly, I'm going to choose to live.
