"Hey Jiao, I'll be right back. Don't drink my Yoo-hoo."
She smirked. "Unfortunately for you, I have no respect for authority, even people who have none."
She wasn't kidding. Out of all the people at our school, she had been scolded, detentioned, and suspended more times than anyone else. Her GPA was 2.455 on a 4.0 scale... but that's another story.
I went into the bathroom to do my makeup for our video, when my phone vibrated. It was a text message from an unknown number:
'Ustedes son robonas del arte.'
We're thieves of art? What?
I figured they sent it to the wrong number, so I did my makeup, returned to the living room to record my and Jiao's cover of 'Al Lado De Ti', and posted it to YouTube.
The next text I received read '¿Quieren jugar? Pues jugaremos... pero no será nada divertido para ustedes.'
Again I ignored it, only to see another: 'Las vidas de ustedes o mi canción. Escoja.'
Jiao tapped me on the shoulder with a very worried look on her face. "Lottie, do you see that?"
"See what?"
"Behind you! There's a pale, dark-haired lady wearing a sparkly dress and high heels, and she's pointing at you. She's also staring at me weird and whispering something in Spanish."
I looked behind me, and saw nothing. "Are you doing drugs?"
She rolled her eyes. "You actually believe those stupid rumors? I've never even TOUCHED a drug, assuming inhalers don't cou--- OHMIGOSH. Okay, NOW do you see anything? Look at the left wall."
"Uh, no..."
"HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT SEE THAT?! SHE FUCKING TOOK HER FINGER OFF AND IS USING IT TO MAKE LITTLE TALLY MARKS ON THE WALL!!!"
I was really starting to lose my cool. "Please stop messing with me, or I will have to find a new guitarist."
"Sorry, sorry." She covered her hand with her mouth.
