"Hold Still!" I yelled at the little boy. The poor boy is sick and he won't let me take care of him! I hold the spoon up to his mouth just so he can squirm around, and shake his head violently, almost making me drop the spoon.
I finally put the spoon down beside him and run my fingers through my hair out of frustration. This boy is making me go mad! I turn on my heels and walk over to my table. I look at it to see if there are any other ways to give him the medicines. I look and see the bunches of herbs scattered on the old wooden table with the scars from my knife, from me cutting herbs for thousands of times. I stared at them for a while. The room was silent. It was a good kinda silent. I sat down and listened carefully. I can here the birds chirping outside, the stream near my house, I can even here my horse, Midnight. The house was not silent now that I've relaxed. It's still full of life, even if it's from the outdoors. I closed my eyes and imaged the pasture that's behind the tree line beside my house. The beautiful flowers and herbs. The way it's gold during the morning and evening. The yarrow and daisies and... Wait? Yarrow!
I shot up and got yarrow, peppermint, lemon balm, and elderflower and threw them in my bowl. I took these plants and crushed them till they were almost a powder. After this I grabbed a small cloth, put the mix into a small pile on top of the fabric the tied the cloth so it acts like a bag. I set the bag down softly on the scarred table and walk over to the boiling pot of water I had over the fire. I picked up a cup and poured the water, then set the pot back on the fire and walked back to the table. I took the bag and dumped it into the cup to make tea.
Once I was done I turned around to see the boy. I look at the spoon and it was... EMPTY!!! I did all of this for nothing! That stupid boy ate the medicine without me knowing. And now no need for tea! I stared at the boy and slammed the cup on the table behind me. The hot tea splashed onto my hand and it burned like hell but I still stood there.
The boy looked at me and giggled an innocent giggle. I scolded at him. How can a little two year old be so evil! I walked up to Timothy and told him that the boy will be fine. Timothy was the boy's father and stood outside the entire time, cause if he saw what is inside, I would probably be burned by the stake for the accusation of being a witch. My mother knew a lot about herbs and plants and was able to make medicine better then what they gave us, they thought she was a witch and burned her. I was thirteen when they took her away. She taught me as much as she possible could cause she knew it would happen. She knew that was her fate.
I shook my head out of thought and realized that Timothy left. I look down and see my pay. Two loafs of bread. There was my dinner. I picked up the basket with the loaves inside.
I turn back around and softly close the door behind me. "Another successful day!" I say to myself. I walk over to the table and set the basket down, then spotted the cup. I stared at it, thinking about what to do with it. After a while I finally said heck with it and chugged the tea down. I lay down the cup and wiped my mouth. I walked towards the mirror I had, for I was meeting another costumer today. This costumer was important because he was very high ranked, and that means better pay.
I carefully looked at my features. My black hair was in a mess, I look all sweaty, and I have dark circles under my dark eyes. "Awful!" I shouted, "Not fit for such importance!" I then take a cloth and wash my face. Take my brush and brush out all of the tangles. And I do not know what to do about my eyes. I look around and found a cream that the color looked about my skin color. I dab a little on and rubes it in. Once I'm done I look in the mirror. "Perfect!" I exclaimed. I walk away and check on my herb supplies. The man said he needed a bundle of fennel for his stomach and he'll pay me an amount of £'s for it. I look at my supplies and see no fennel at all. Crap!
I write a note saying " I am out to restock supplies, be back tomorrow." And pinned it to the front of my door. I gather up my cloak and basket and head out to find fennel.
I went behind my house to head for the only meadow that grows fennel. This meadow is out in the middle of nowhere. I got lost once and stumbled across it, and when I found fennel I took 5 bundles of it which lasted me for the longest time. It's going to be very hard to find it again for I didn't pay much attention to my surroundings when I left.
I walk around for about 20 minutes and find no sign of the meadow. I finally take a brake, leaning up against a nearby tree and slowly sitting down. The one worst thing about herbs is trying to find them. Once I hit the ground I sit my basket down beside me and lower my hood. I just sat there, thinking and listening. It was truly peaceful. The birds were chirping a sweet melody and the wind blew the leave softly above me. A sudden tiredness fell over me, I close my eyes and drifted away.
Thanks for reading this, the video was the birds in the Forrest and that is what I hear every morning during summer. If you haven't already figured out the setting, it's in England, medieval times. In this chapter now I would say late morning in summer from the birds. But like I said, thank you for reading, even if you don't like it.
