Prologue
Macy Grey's P.O.V¤¤¤¤¤
I walked down stairs to see my brother sitting on a barstool and grabbing a donut.
"Hey, Tye," I greeted my brother.
"Hey, Mace. "
I walked up behind him and took a huge bite of his donut.
"Oh, were you gonna eat that?" I asked with my mouth full.
He glared at me, "No, I was waiting for you to come and eat it. For thall shall hail the queen."
"Awe. Thanks, Tyler." I touched my chest, took his donut, and waved to the air.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." He said dully.
"I know right, I should become a comedian."
He rolled his eyes and grumbled words as he walked up stairs.
I smiled and sat on the couch next to my little brother.
"Macy, why doesn't Mickey Mouse just confess his love for Minnie Mouse?" Jason asked.
Jason's 6 and believes in a lot of things. He's our positive soul in the house.
"Maybe he's scared that she won't like him the same way." I shrugged and took another bite of the donut.
"I don't know, Macy. I think she knows. He knows. " He threw his arms up in exhaustion and sighed. "I just don't know what to do anymore."
I chuckled quietly.
A new episode of Mickey Mouse came on. I looked at Jason to see he was now sitting on his knees at the coffee table, coloring.
The door opened and my dad walked in. He looked like a mess. His hair was all messy. He had bags under his eyes.
You have bags under your eyes, too.
Yeah, but mine are designer.
"Daddy!" Jason ran to my dad and hugged his legs.
My dad's pleading face made me get up and pry Jason off dad's legs.
"Thanks, Mace. Uh... I'm gonna go ...uh... do that...yeah."
Great, he's still drunk.
I nodded and carried Jason back to the TV.
Jason didn't stay put and ran up stairs. Hopefully, to his room.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
Do you need me to catch you up to speed on the 411 of my family? Okay. Let's go.
First up is Tyler.
Tyler is 17 and my twin brother. Not identical, paternal. He's a jock and is the star quaterback. He is in a relationship with my best friend, Alison. They've been dating for a year. And to make it even more cheesy, she's the head cheerleader.
Next, is Adam.
Adam is my older brother in college. He's currently 22 and has a girlfriend named Veronica. They are both studying something about law and stuff.
Then, it's Jason.
Jason is 6 and believes in the impossible. He believes that Mickey and Minnie should be together because "they're madly in love". He also believes that my best friend is secretly my boyfriend.
Finally, Dad.
Dad drinks ever since Mom died. Mom died last year. When Dad cries, he drinks. If it wasn't for my job, we would have lost the house already.
The door suddenly opened and my best friend, Jackson, walked in with his little sister.
"Ready to go?"
Crap, I forgot we were going to the park.
"Do I have to go?" I groaned.
"Yes, you do. Come on." He grabbed a hold of my hands and pulled me up.
"If you want me to go, you have to get Jason."
"Okay." He shrugged.
"In ten seconds." I added and smirked.
He ran up the stairs.
"One, five, seven, four, two, nine, three, six, eight, ten!"
He came back down stairs with Jason in his arms.
I laughed at him and sat back on the couch.
"Come on, Mace. I was off by like two seconds." Jackson groaned.
I sighed and got up.
"One day, I'm not gonna be here for you to bug or play around with." Jackson threw me my jacket.
"I know, so why not do it now?" I smiled and put my jacket on.
"Because I love you and you love me. You act as if you don't."
Jason's eyes went wide, "I told you!"
"Thanks for making his dreams come true." I grabbed my keys.
"I'm a dream maker, heartbreaker!" Jackson sang.
I chuckled.
Now, off to hell with three kids at the park.
