The rain poured down, each drop making a loud plop as it made impact with the sea of black umbrellas below.
Although, in the large sea of moving umbrellas, heading the opposite direction was a crimson red umbrella. This one had stood out from the knot of people in the street.
Underneath, idly walking through the thick crowd, taking in every detail her eyes laid on, there walked Rhiannon Osworth.
She avoided making eye contact with the passing strangers, every once in a while she muttered a sorry to the passing knots of people.
One would've expected the streets not to be so thick with traffic on the roads and pathways. But this was normal to Londoners and the gloomy weather never affected the residents of the city.
Obviously, it did keep most tourists locked up in hotel rooms, coffee shops and keeping to a path of indoor activities, much to their dismay.
Rhiannon bumped into a tall man, his parcels fell and landed into the muddy puddles below. Immediately he stooped low, muttering many curses picking up the sodden packages.
"Sorry! I'm really sorry!" Shouted Rhiannon, she didn't dare to help pick up the packages, in feared being pushed over in the crowd and being trampled.
"No harm, no harm" the man muttered standing back up "Actually, yes. There is plenty of harm done if I were to be honest, I mean, these packages were to be sent to my family! Now look at them, now they won't get any gifts for Christmas!"
Rhiannon stepped back, slightly surprised by his remark. "I-I'm so sorry sir it was just that-" He cut in front of her "Yeah, sure. Whatever." With that he walked away, carrying the sodden packages.Maybe this was a bad way to start the day, nevertheless Rhiannon continued on her way.
After a long while, she came to a halt at a old warehouse. London contained many of these, still awaiting there fate of being destroyed and replaced. Most of them were contaminated and many signs were placed around them, on the doors, walls, windows and mainly, the fence.
Rhiannon came to a halt at the gate, a chain had been thickly wrapped around it to stop intruders. Rhiannon squinted, looking up at the top of the fence, it had been lined with barbed wire.
She sighed, glancing around the suburban area before putting away her umbrella, upon doing this she pulled out a disposable dust mask and slipped it over her head so it sat snugly on her face.
She resumed pulling out gloves and pulled up her hoodie so it masked her identity.Rhiannon let out a dog breath before grabbing a hold of the wire fence and hoisted herself up.
Soon, she had carefully climbed over the barbed wire, despite being unable to avoid a few scratches and continued on her way.Rhiannon pulled out a small hair clip from her own soft brown hair, causing a strand to fall in front of her eyes.
She adjusted herself began picking at the lock. After a small while she gave up and grabbed a reasonably large rock. She swung the rock onto the lock a few times until there was a loud crack.
The lock wasn't unlocked professionally. It was broken.
Rhiannon sighed, about to pull out a replacement lock until she heard a loud beep.
She jumped, startled and quickly looked around before quickly turning her phone on silent and checking the message. It was from Scotland Yard. She had to leave immediately.Without thinking, she ran to the fence and climbed as fast as she could. This time she ripped her jeans and now a long tear in her skin lay there, caused by the barb wire.
She didn't care.
All she cared about was not getting caught.
The problem with working for Scotland Yard, they had a gps in your phone.
