PE and Advanced Maths were easy. As usual. I can't wait for the day when I learn something. Or find something challenging. Lunch with Ralton and Mark was a laugh. Ralton fell asleep and so me and Mark drew on his face in permanent marker. Then he woke up and yelled at us for standing up, completely oblivious to the fact that he had permanent marker on his face. Turns out he is my english advanced teacher so everyone assumed that I did the great artwork of his face. Some kids high fived me and everyone wanted to sit next to me but I left the spot free for Snow, who I had EA with.
"So detention went well?" I gave her a thumbs up, "heard 'bout your dad."
"He's harmless. And he's been touring America with some ballet company as the French Horn player." I said a-matter-of-factly.
"Alexia. Isabella. Stop talking and do work." Said Ralton.
"For gods sake sir. My name is Bella." Snow whined.
"No it's not. Alexia, if you wish to keep the best in the is class, better listen because now that Mitchell is here, you have competition." He gestured to the most handsome man I have ever seen. He had tanned skin and dark hair. I was tall and yes, he was the most handsome boy in the universe. Wow. He was sitting at the back and had his head down and was sitting as though he didn't want to be seen. But as soon as he heard his name, his head jerked up and every girl in the class melted. Soon, all the girls were sitting next to him and even though I was in my usual seat, in the middle in the side, I was completely at the front.
"I'm sorry sir, I'm not that smart." He said very smartly, trying to be modest, but all I could hear was a very amazing voice. And I don't know why.
"Mitchell, you came first in the Europe in English and Science. You are an internat-"
"Sorry sir I don't like interrupting, however I am becoming uncomfortable with you bragging about me causing these girls to surround me." He said with his European accent.
"Sorry, I am just so happy to finally have a smart person in my class." What about me? I am smart. Not sensible, but smart.
"Um, hello? Am I invisible? I the smart kid remember you said it yourself at the start of the lesson." I said in utter disbelief.
"Yes but Mr. Putch here has a good reputation, unlike you who is disliked by every teacher."
"Mr. Nalstone likes me." I blurted out. I'm not even sure if that's true. He probably doesn't.
"All of your music teachers like you. You actually work hard in their classes."
"Sir, if she continues disrupting this class where I came here to learn, then make her leave," said very handsome Mitchell from his seat.
"What is there to learn? If you are as smart as sir says you are then you have nothing to learn, like me." I shot back at him. Ha take that. Oh God his face actually looked speechless. It wasn't even a good speech. I've done better.
"Are you two done? I have a class to teach," he pauses briefly to see our faces and we sat silently. " thank you. Now, your task is a partner task. I have selected your groups and due the complications we have had this lesson, Miss Harigon and Mr Putch, you can be partners," I groaned. So did Mr Handsome. This is going to be good. Ralton made all the other groups and if looks could kill, me and Mitchell would both be murderers. Oh well."Listen up." I started when I decided our silence was to come to an end and I gained some confidence. "I may not come across as someone who wants good marks, but I do. And you obviously want them as well. We also don't need to work for them because well, we are obviously geniuses. So, this should be easy." He nodded. I picked up the task sheet. Essay on a Famous Historical Person- partner Task.
"Who do we do?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said with exasperation. Although I did know who I wanted to do. Nelson Mandela. My inspiration. Only quietly though. If everyone knew, it might ruin my reputation.
"James Cook?" He suggested. Ugh no. Boring. Everyone's going to do him.
"Sure." I said putting on my best smile. He smiled back.
He smiled. Oh my God. I looked around the room and every girl had the same response as me. Pure awe.
"Umm okay then," I said nervously, "I'll do his early life and you do his you know, expedition and stuff," he nodded, agreeing with me.
We then sat in silence researching our area of Cook's life. Mitchell turned out to be a bad boy, I found him texting some kid who lived in London. Then I started texting Mark, because I had nothing better to do. I was already pretty much finished. At some point, someone must have told Ralton that their was texts on his face because he disappeared into his office, to be seen with his mustache and warts now faded. Sad face. Then I got so bored that I packed up my stuff and left to go for a walk. When I heard footsteps behind me I turned and saw Mitchell following me.
"What do you want?" I asked sharply.
"I finished." He deadpanned. Finally, someone feels my pain. "Why did you leave?"
"To be somewhere I love." I said as I gestured to the music building where I was heading. He nodded. Why does he always nod? It's creepy.
I picked up my pace and Mitchell fell behind.
I walked into the music room, made sure Mr. Nalstone wasn't there and began playing the piece he gave me. It sounded so good on the piano. I then started playing the left hand of another piece. I recorded that and played another piece, now three pieces together. I new that someone was watching me because I heard them enter. I suddenly stopped and paused everything else. I leaned in the keys causing a terrible sound.
"Get out." I said boredly. I still didn't know who it was, I didn't care who it was.
"That was incredible." I turned to see my father and Mitchell standing in awe.
