Alex's POV

Running.

Running.

I'm running, that's all I know of.

The woods is all I see.

My senses are heightened. I can hear everything and anything within a 2 mile radius. But I don't know what any of it means. It's just noise. It's just getting louder the closer I get.

I dont know what it is but it's close.

I'm close.

Daniel.

Daniel's close. And Shelby.

Images flash across my head.

It's all coming back.

Making me remember.

But that's when the pain comes.

It comes as a shock as it always does, I never see it coming knocking me off my paws. My fall onto the hard forrest floor, covered in sharp sticks and pine cones is cushioned by my fleecy coat.

Shooting through me, volts of electricity. They're not stopping. One after another with temporary breaks between.

Coming again

And again.

And

Again.

Until I become numb of them.

Until the pain is all I know of.

Until it's not pain anymore it's just life.

The pain is just a part of living, the only part of living.

They last for only a few minutes, but they feel like a lifetime.

Every time.

When they finish I attempt to stand, the needle shaped, wooden rubble splinter my bare feet. Damn feet. Good thing I only have to deal with them one day a month.

They're isn't any cushiony padding to protect them. Shoes are such a pain.

The cold morning air stings my fresh naked skin.

Clothes. Right I can't be seen like this in the middle of the woods. I'll look like a phsyco. Not that anyones wandering the woods at midnight. They'd likely be a phsyco if that were the case. Our house is the only house out here. That's only for convinience. It's huge, basically a mansion. It's a shame we're barely living there. But it has to be that big, theres a lot of us.

I starts sprinting towards the house. I have 23hours, 52minutes and 12seconds until I turn.

I'm making the most of that time.

Getting wrecked.
