"This wasn't supposed to happen, Alvrine" bellowed a distant voice sternly.

"What are you trying to say! Are you trying to make a point that I have full control of the boy's life!"

"Yes"

In silent contemplation, Alvrine noted to himself that he very well knew the control he had and the role he played. Every mistake he made had a larger impact than many could ever imagine and the puppet masters that so viciously yanked on his own strings punished him for those he did make. He knew it was all a chain, he had control, those above had more and those above them continued to posses larger and more significant domains.

"Do you understand what you have done for this species, insubordination will never be tolerated and you were aware of this." the voice now had a threatening hint of intimidation in it, or so was the owner's intention.

"I understand what I have done and never would I change my actions." unlike before, Alvrine spoke with such confidence, such calm, that it incited a level of apprehension in the minds of his superiors.

Alvrine wanted nothing more than to understand what he had but a glimpse of. This memory, as hazy as it may be motivated every one of Alvrine's actions, the creaking of a swing, the smiles under the autumn sunlight. Emotions, emotions he knew he was incapable of possessing, but with the capability to give, it was the least he could do. As his motives were translated to the omnipotent voices above him he knew that he would be dismissed. Left once again, powerless to the world beneath him.

"Please, just let him live"

"Coming from your position we would expect the opposite desire, he is lucky to be alive as we speak"

"I mean let him live, not breathe, not let his heart beat, let him convey emotions and live to conquer what lies before him"

"I'm sorry, but you seem to be misunderstanding your previous mission, the mission"

"I understand that you are postponing the inevitable and that no matter what steps you take, no matter how many more lives you taint, there will be no difference"

"Preposterous, for we have been promised a savior"

"A promise is only as good as the person who holds it, and what promises are being held from them...we have lost our way"

"You, my dear Alvrine have lost your way, you have become soft"

"You know as well as I that we should have waited! I had to reverse the damage you have done, and for that we needed, not a machine, but a human!"

"The push was necessary, he never would have survived long enough for self activation"

"Pray then, pray to your masters that their judgment is correct, pray that your 'savior' will understand, pray that you will be forgiven, I will not pray for you"
