Michael was doodling on the yellow construction paper Mr. Zee handed out for everyone. He was drawing a picture of him and his dad around a bunch of cars since he works with them. "Michael that's not a girl, that's a boy" Eric points out frowning

Michael rolls his eyes at the other boy, he didn't like him at all. He was always making fun of him and being mean as well as some others too. "He's drawing him and his daddy" Michael's bestfriend Ashton points out.

Eric makes a face, "He's supposed to draw his mom, not his dad. What do you not have a mom Michael?" He asks making Michael frown shaking his head

"Ew, that means your lame" Ashton frowns, "No it doesn't, leave him alone" "I'll leave him alone, I don't play with people who have no mommy" Eric says sitting at another table.

Ashton hugs his side, "It's ok buddy, I don't have a daddy. I just have a mommy, my brother and sister" Michael nods giving him a smile as he goes back to drawing. He starts to sniffle continuing to color in his card, why didn't he have a mommy?

Liam opened the door to the preschool walking into the office first to sign in, "Hello Debra, how're you?" He says to the old woman at the front desk. "I'm good, how are you doing Liam?" She asks nicely making him smile as he writes his name in the sign out box. "Good good"

"Oh that's great, how's your job going?" "It's doing great, I got a promotion today" Debra gasps clasping her hands, "Oh I'm so proud, congratulations" "Thank you"

Debra was a kind old woman at the front desk at the school who would always, always check on Liam and his home life. She knows about how he's a single father, working at a small business, raising his son all on his own. She admires that he's being the best father he can be, always giving him a plate of cookies during the holidays.

"Have a good weekend Debra" Liam waves walking towards his son's classroom. "You too sweetheart, tell Michael I said hello"

"will do" he says ending the conversation. He really wanted to go out and celebrate with his son after finding out he got a promotion, he gets paid a lot more then usual

He's been saving up to find another place for him and Michael to stay in, with a lot more rooms, bathrooms, bigger space. He's been pondering the idea of getting a puppy too, Michael has been asking for one for a while

He opened the door thinking he was going to be met with his curly haired son playing or coloring but he was wrong. He noticed Zayn holding him on his lap rocking his son gently, he heard sniffling making him walk in closing the door. "What happened?" His protective fatherly instincts kicking in as he gets on his knees to Michael's level

Zayn gives him a sad smile, "I just heard this a while ago," he informs him making Liam nod waiting for him to continue. "One of the students here was making fun of Michael for not having a mother" he says softly making Liam's heart break completely

He watched his son's lip quiver, fat tears streaming down his face. "Mikey c'mere" Liam says softly, he watched his son unwrap himself from Zayn extending his arms out to him. Liam took him into his arms pulling out a chair to sit down rubbing his back, "It's alright buddy"

For a while Zayn rubs Michael's hand for comfort. 'Did she not like me? Is it because I wear these?' Michael signs shakily motioning to his hearing aids making Liam shake his head rapidly. "No that is not why, it has nothing to do with that Michael James" Liam says sternly making him look at him

"Your mom didn't want you because she was selfish and an idiot. She was only worrying about her herself. She didn't wanna see how awesome of a kid you are, she didn't want to take care of you like I wanted to do. But you know what?"

Michael sniffs a little, 'What?' "You don't need her, you got me" he says bopping his nose making Michael smile. "And you have uncle Harry and Niall, grandma Anne, and you even have Mr. Zee" Liam says making Zayn grin nodding in response. Liam starts listing more people Zayn haven't heard of

'So my mom never wanted me?' Michael asks. "No, she didn't but I wanted you, that's all that matters buddy" Michael wipes his nose smiling. 'I love you' Liam kisses his head hugging him right, "Love you too bug"

Zayn smiles at them, "I talked with Eric's mother, he's in big trouble" Liam nods, "Thank you" he says sincerely making Zayn smile warmly. "But guess what though?" Liam asks excitingly to Michael who looked up. "I got a promotion!" He says giving him a bear hug making the four year old squeal

Zayn gasps, "That's great Liam" Liam grin shyly, "Thanks" Michael gets off of Liam's lap going to his cubby. "I was gonna go out to celebrate, you wanna go out maybe?" He asks hopefully. "Sure, I'd love too"

"Cool, I was gonna take Mike out for ice cream. Then later tonight we could go to the movies?" Zayn blushes furiously, "Ok, sounds like the plan"

Michael comes over with his bookbag, 'Bye Mr. Zee' he signs before hugging him. Zayn hugs him back grinning, "See you later Michael" Michael grabs Liam's hand waving as he leads him out the door. Liam mouthed, "See you tonight" making Zayn nod with a thumbs up

so this is story is almost coming to an end and I'm pretty sad about it :( But I'm thinking of doing a little sequel of it tho
