My brain started to work before my eyes even opened. I heard yelling two people arguing. "She can't stay here!" One person yelled. "She has to." I recognized it as Gabriel. "She could have killed her!" It was Silent for a minute "but she didn't." My eyes slowly fluttered open. One still wouldn't open all the way. I was laying on my bed. And Gabriel stood at the foot with Carson. Why are they in my room? Gabriel ran to me. "Sky I'm so sorry." His eyes were red and puffy. I felt bad for him. He cares to much. "It's fine Gabe. It really doesn't hurt." I lied it hurt a lot. Pain I had never felt.
My ribs ached and begged me to stop breathing. And my head pounded as if there was a heart in it. Carson just glared at me. He could tell i was lying but he didn't want to make Gabriel worry more than he already has. He sat on my bed. "I didn't know she was going to do that. She had just gotten out of the hospital. And I thought it would be like all the other times where she is good for a week or two after she gets out. But she wasn't. It's my fault." Gabe put his head in his hands.
"It's not your fault. I'm living. I'm not dead. Moms not dead. Just focus on now helping her get better and helping yourself get a bright future." I sat up ignoring the pain shooting through my body. I hugged him. His tears soaked my shirt a little but I didn't care. I looked at Carson. He had remained silent. He looked deep in thought. "Skylar you don't have to stay here." He spoke. I let go of Gabe. "I do have to." He looked hurt. "No you don't it's your choice to go or stay." "my siblings don't get the luxury. So why should I?" He glared at me. A state that caused me to Feel like daggers were going through me.
"Fine." He stormed out of the room. I layed back down. I had turned dizzy again. Gabe layed next to me. We talked about what he wanted to do with his life. Even though I spoke. My mind was focused on one thing. Carson.
