"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present." - Marcus Aurelius

"Did she take your money already?"

"Yeah..."

"Your never going to give her another cent, understand?"

"It's my money." I said bluntly. "I'll do what I want with it." My voice didn't falter for a single second. I didn't even lower my gaze. I just stayed seated on the arm of the lounge, watching while Dad text on my phone. I don't know what was happening, I just know he was texting mum. That was a sentence I never thought I would think...

"You want to give everything your grandmother left you to the bitch who abandoned you your whole life?" He raised his gaze, shooting me an almost glare. El just groaned next to him. She wasn't happy about any of this. Not a single part of it. She had literally made Chase leave the room the minute the conversation began and had only come back to try and stop what she thought was dads ridiculous idea.

"I'll do what I want." I said bluntly. "It's mine and I can do what I like."

"Doesn't mean I can't yell at for being an idiot." He snapped.

"Speaking of idiots," El started slyly, "what the hell are you thinking?" She snapped. Dad turned to her shrugging as she slammed her magazine on the coffee table. "That bitch is psychopathic! And your going to what? Go and sit down with her and discuss what you've been the doing the past thirteen years? She's a crazy whore do you think that will end well? No offence Tellie."

"None taken." I said though it sounded sour.

"I still think this is a bad idea." El said.

"Someone needs to tell the bitch to back off." Dad snapped. "We already know Tellie's ready to give her whatever she wants." I rolled my eyes and he just glares. "Don't. You already gave her what? A quarter of a million or something?"

"I'm an adult." I said bluntly. "I can do with my money, what I want."

"Your still an idiot." He said with a shrug. I rolled my eyes again. "And your still my daughter so if you roll your eyes one more time your screwed."

"I'm not though." I said blankly. "It's not like you can ground me. And your not going to kick me out just yet because I literally have been in the country for only a week, and because I'm nineteen you like to imply I'm still a teenager, because well, nine-teen, but legally I'm an adult so you can't actually do anything to me and I don't have to do anything you to tell me to do, even though you can't come to terms with it." He and El just looked at me blankly. "I was just saying." I said slowly. "You know... Getting my point across... Ugh, it doesn't matter. I didn't say anything."

"This is a really bad idea." Eleanor said.

"I just want to make sure it's her really." Dad said. "Tellie could be played by anyone."

"Can you stop insulting me?" I snapped.

He shrugged. "I probably could. But I'm choosing not to. It's my way of showing that I love you. I love you enough to point out when your being an idiot."
