Odell
After we got done eating, I went straight home so I could take my nap. I wasn't in the mood to do anything since I was so full.
Just before falling asleep my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said picking up without looking at the name.
"Odell! Why haven't you called me back?" My mom yelled.
"You never called me." I said.
"Oh yeah that's right I meant to call your dad. Oops." She said.
"Why you wanna talk to him? I thought you hated him."
"I could never hate your father, but anyways, I'm in New York at this coffee shop and I saw this interesting magazine." She said.
"Okay, and?"
"It's one of those tabloid ones where they talk about drama and everything, and as I'm flipping through some pages I see you and a girl walking." She said excitedly.
"What? You sure it's me?" My eyebrows furrowed together.
"Positive. Not everyone's hair is dyed like yours, but whose the girl?"
I didn't know what to tell her.
"Uh, my girlfriend." I said, I mean I wasn't really lying she was.
"Why haven't you told me about her!? When can I meet her? Tomorrow? Tonight-."
"Mama, don't start this please."
"How long have you guys been going out?"
"Around 2 ye-"
"Years Odell? And I'm just finding out about her? The year is coming to an end so, like, make it happen before the year ends. Okay bye honey, love you."
"Love you too." I said back to her hanging up.
I'm not worried about us and my mom, I'm worried about him finding out about it.
I debated on sending Crystal a text, but I decided against it.
Xander
"Nicole could you refill me coffee mug up?" I asked reviewing files for a homicide.
"Yes, babe." She said getting up from her desk across from mines.
"What I tell you about calling me that a work?" I looked up at her.
"Sorry I can't help it. Babe, and besides, we're the only ones in here."
"I guess." I shrugged.
I leaned back in my chair and watched her walk out of the room.
As much as I want to just have Nicole, I don't want to lose Crystal. I know she still loves me and I also know that if she left me I'd put her six feet under because no one breaks up with Xander.
Crystal tried once. Let's just say she won't ever try again.
Yeah I know I'm a two timer, but there's nothing wrong if the other doesn't know, besides, Crystal was left with a Will of over a million from her grandparents' estate, so she really stuck with me.
"Here you go." Nicole said giving me the coffee.
"Thanks. Did you put in for the trip?" I asked.
"Yeah, they tried to figure out where I was going." She said sitting down in one of the two seats in front of my desk.
"What you say." I asked.
"My mom died." She said nonchalantly.
"Why would you say that? You could have just said there was a family emergency." I shook my head. "Now she really gone pass soon."
"I don't care. She wasn't even in my life so it's whatever."
"You crazy."
"I know." She started filing her nails and looking at her face in a compact mirror. "I could appear nice and lovely to the world, but I've done dirty work to get here." She added.
"Like what?"
"Hacked a few systems, threatened a few people, nothing big, I really don't have a problem with taking people in my way out." She shrugged.
