Love awaits

Chapter 2

*beep...beep...beep*
Leila turned her stiff neck to see a machine in grey with a little red line dancing up and down on the screen. She looked down at her hand, all there was was tubes everywhere attached to her body with different liquids entering her fine veins making every movement feel like she was being pocked with needles piercing her pale skin.
"Hey darling, you starting to wake up." Whispered leilas mum Paola. She brushed back Leilas hazel hair from her sweaty forehead.
Reasurment rushed through leilas body as if she jumped into a pool of warm water; she knew instantly that she was safe. She gazed up at her mum and gave a little smile and then returned back to her position looking at her hands. It was quiet and her eyes were tired and fuzzy. There was a slight noise of rustling at the end of her rock hard bed, with covers that stuck to her like honey. A tall well built man dressed in a white cloak and a blue stripped top was staring at Leila and then writing her every movement on the yellow board. She looked him up and down and gave a slight smirk without noticing.
"Miss rayne, please could I have a word with you?" And with those words him and Paola walked away.
A figure appeared behind the doctor, it was Annelies. She dropped her big school bag down by one of the old chairs, which still had the last patients ass print indented, gave a second glance at the doctor and said "so, what about that one"
They both laughed and joked around.
" so how are you feeling?" Annelies said suddenly changing her face expression to being serious.
Leila looked to the opposite way to Annelies and gave a twitch of her nose and lifted her eyebrow as if they were connected by string and were pulled vigorously. She giggled.
Rain started to hit the white polished window above leilas head like a thousand bullets. Annelies stood up to look out of the window.
"Looks like there's going to be a storm tonight"
Both of them shivered at the thought. Still staring out the window, Annelies squinted.
"I think someone's out there"
Leila shuffled around in her bed, still keeping her covers over her due to the cold frosts bite in the air, and turned to look out as well. All leila could see was an empty road and the trees and plants dancing in the melody of the wind.
"Your mental!" Leila said with a slight laugh.
Shaking her head. now perching next to leila, Annelies said with a hyper rush flow through her "do you wanna come for a sleepover tonight?! It will be fun, we can..."
She was interrupted by the doctor.
"You are free to go now but you must take these tablets if you feel your going to faint. What happened is that you had a panic attack and was overwhelmed with everything. You need to stay calm." And with that he strode away with his cape like cloak that trailed after him like his shadow. " come on then girls, Annelies I will give you a lift if you like" said Paola.
" thanks Paola but don't worry my mum said she would pick me up" Annelies said with a smile. Paola gave a little nod, hugged Annelies and then called a nurse over to help leila to get up and detach all of the wires.
" Annelies I will text you about the sleepover"
"Ok, bye love you loads"
They hugged and then walked out together.
As they exited from the hospital two bright head lights flashed at them.
"Sorry have to go that's my mum." Annelies scurried off to the car and opened the door of the black shiny jaguar,her mums prize posetion .
Paola was sorting out every thing at the wide desk in the hospital. Leila was sitting on a damp, wet bench waiting in drizzling rain. It was dark now, probably around 9 o'clock.
*ping ping*
Leila looked down at her phone and whipped away the rain drops that settled on the screen.
It was a text message from Annelies
Hey leila xxx don't worry about that sleepover😂😂 anyway I have had a really good idea about that caravan road trip we were planning! So tomorrow's the last day before summer holidays and we have to go! It would be Bae X I talked to my mum and she said yes so text back about the answer from Paola xxx love u loads see u tomoz xx😂❤️
Leila paused for a moment and then a smile crept on her face. She saw her mum leave the hospital doors so she got up and made her way to her car. As Paola unlocked the car it flashed brightly into leilas eyes causing them to water. Leila opened the car door and sad down heavily making the car groan and then slammed the door closed. She gave out a load sigh of tiredness.
"Hey!"
"Aghhhhhh!!!" Screamed Leila.
She turned in her seat and extended her seat belt to see James, her younger brother, piss himself with laughter.
"James! You act like a 3 year old!" Leila said trying to be serious but starting to laugh. He couldn't stop laughing and nore could she.
