My name is Sam, Sam Cooper. My family just moved here from California, into this old, creaky, house. There are a lot of old furniture here, including antuque chairs, tables, and even a piano. We moved everything into the garage, except the piano. It looked new, polished, and unused, so we just left it in the middle of our living room. After all that work, everybody was exhausted, I looked at the clock, it read 11:45. "It's getting pretty late," says dad, "Everybody, lights out!"
I can't sleep, the room seems unsual, I can hear dads snores already, so I guess its already very late. Then I hear it, a sad piano melody echoing down the stairs. Who could be playing it? Mom and dad can't play a single piece. I opened the door, it creaked. I tiptoed down the stairs, and when I look at the piano, the music stops. The piano lid is open, so somebody must have opened it, but who? I remember that the lid was shut tight right before we went to sleep. I guess I must've had a nightmare, a plop back down on my bed, and lie down. Thats when I hear it again, okay, I think to myself, definetely not a nightmare. I run straight to mom and dad's room and open the door. They sit up, "honey, are you okay?" Asks mom. "Did you guys hear someone play the piano?" I ask. "No, honey. It was just a bad dream, now go back to sleep, we've had a rough day." Okay, they don't believe one word I say. I have to investigate myself, I have to think of a plan. I lie in my bed, the piano still playing. I don't know, I think that I'll think of something tommorow.
The next day, I ask dad, "who used to live here?" He looks at me and says, "you wouldn't believe it but this is where the piano master beetoven once lived. My mouth drops in shock, not because I'm amazed, It's because I'm scared, because I found out who and where the piano melody came from...
