My servile behavior was not in my blood.
I didn't cry.
I felt alone.
Lady Edwina Carnavan was away.
She was in Scotland. Why was she there? The Ball of Vampires and Demons was gone. Vanished. Yes, it would be the event of 1713, but now it was 1714.
A year had passed.
And I vowed to escape my enslavement.
Because, in the end, I found God. And, for His strength and wisdom, did I stare at the Guards, and wondered whether their blood would gush all over my body.
