Scarlet's POV

Finally the day is over and I can go home and sleep. My mother probably isn't home. What a surprise. She is always gone.

My brother Sam died in a car crash a few months ago, it was my fault. I was driving and she can't even look at me. He was only 13.

It was raining really hard and I looked down for one second to turn on the wipers and bam. A truck smashed into the side of the car.

Of course it couldn't have been me who died, it had to be my baby brother. I woke up in the hospital one week later. I ended up missing his funeral. I hate myself everyday for it.

"Watch out," A blond headed boy says knocking into my with his bike sending my books flying.

"Ow," I groan laying on my back.

"Oh my God I am so so sorry, I didn't mean to!" The boy says gathering all my books and then helping me up.

"I-I'm alright, Thank you for getting my books, I'll watch where I'm going next time," I giggle. He looks at me and flashes a smile.

"No it was totally my fault,"

"I have to go, but thank you for helping me up,"

"Wait what's your name?" He asks me looking into my eyes.

"Scarlett," I say with a smile.

"So scar for short?" He smirks.

"Um sure," I say biting my lip gently. My cheeks flushed and he gets on his bike riding away.

No one has called me Scar since my brother died, and it felt really good.

I walk to my small car and swing open the door, my mum took away my car for a few months but gave it back after I redid my test a few times.

She probably is somewhere drunk and high. I can take care of myself. I'm not stupid. I have a job that gives me money so I can pay for all of my bills. I basically own the house. I pay for it and all.

I start the short drive home and listen to music while I turn into the driveway.

My house was normal size, it was all white but the shutters were light blue. Wild flowers were growing in the front yard and the tree had a tire swing in it.

Looked like a happy home. But it wasn't.

If you are wondering where my dad is don't ask. He left whenever Sam was born. He didn't want anything to do with me.

Whatever though.

I open the front door and smile when my mum wasn't home. When she is here she cusses at me, degrades me, and hits me so that's why I am fucking happy.

"Comander!" I yell as my fat husky jumps down the stairs to greet me.

He has stunning blue eyes, and he's to fat to run away so he cuddles with everyone.

"Hi baby!" I yell and kiss him on the head.

I throw my bag to the side and pull out my phone placing it on the charger. I smile and turn on the tv putting it on the music channel.

I race up to my room to change into something comfortable, I put on a pair of knee socks and an old shirt that I kept from my dad. I went down to my knees and I pulled my hair from the bun I had it in.

It fell in little ringlets down my back, I have hair down to my butt and I really didn't like it, my mom hated when I cut my hair so I grew it out for the past couple years.

The music was blasting and I was basically dancing in my underwear. A knock was heard on the door and I dance over to it pulling it open expecting to see my friend from across the street, but instead I seen the blond headed boy from school.

With my binder in his hands and a smirk playing on his lips while he looked me up and down.

Shit......
