Harley's POV

I woke up in cold sweat.

Great, another nightmare, I thought to myself. I put my arms behind my head and took a deep breath. Ever since I had discovered my aunt was alive and a SHIELD agent, nightmares plagued my dreams. Not the usual ones about the experiments, but a new breed of fear.

Personal fear.

Memories of times I had never been alive to see came in pieces. Glimpses of things I've never seen. I fell into a deep sigh and pulled my blanket up. The stone underneath me felt crushing to my wings. I spreaded them out and turned to lay on my stomach. I felt a warmth on my back and froze. I heard a click and jumped up. A dark figure held a large string. My wings were pinched together. He yanked on the cord and I cried out in pain. It was connected to the bindings on my wings. I broke the cord and my hand made a chop at his neck. He crumpled and more figures approached. I broke a few bones, leaving the final guys on the ground. I activated my earpiece, calling in to the team that was stationed above me. I heard Cap yawn on the other side. "It's 3 am." I laughed. "I know that. Kidnapping or murder attempt logged at," I checked my watch, "3:23 am. I need some assistance with some cuffs on my win-" My voice was cut off from an attack to my neck. I feinted, falling then turning and knocking out my attacker. "-gs."  Steve called over to someone. "We're sending a team down with equipment. You sure you don't want to come stay in the helicopter?" He asked. "No. If they knew where I'd be and that I was traveling, there might be a spy. Plus now we have a few captives. I'm fine."

The team arrived, herding off the unconscious men and pulling out a blowtorch to get the seal off. "This may burn. Let us know if it gets too bad." I nodded and braced myself. To my surprise, I didn't feel anything. A few minutes later, I heard the clang of metal against the stone. "Was that it?" I asked. The technician nodded but looked confused. "What's wrong?" I asked. She huffed and answered. "Your wings and back aren't burnt. Odd." The team left a short while later. I laid my pillow and blanket against the wall of the shallow cave I was residing in. I couldn't sleep, not after the nightmare and the attack. Around morning, I got a call on my earpiece. It was Maria. "We need you to fly up here. It's important." "Roger that." I stood up, gathering my things and expanding my large black wings. I quickly caught an air current and glided on an upward drift. They opened the back doors of the Quinjet. It was one of the new renovated aircrafts, now bigger. I stepped onto the ramp and pulled back my wings. I met with Maria and Steve in the pilot's computer area. "Don't freak out." Steve warned. I crossed my arms. "Why would I need to freak out?" I took a deep breath.

"Noah has been kidnapped by Cascade."

I exploded.

"STEVEN GRANT ROGERS! HOW COULD YOU LET THEM?" I yelled. He shrank back at my scolding. Maria seemed uneffected. "We're working on it." I turned to her. "Last time you were 'working on it', my mother was murdered by these people and I was kidnapped and tortured until I grew wings and magical powers. I'm going after him." Steve held out his hand. "Harley, wait-," I swatted his hand away. "Hold it. I'm getting Noah back." I pressed the door to the ramp and jumped out.
