The way I figured it, everbody's got their own group of friends. Some may be online, or some may be offline. Some have hundreds of online friends. Some have thousands. Some have their own fraternity or groups of friends. But everybody's got that one person whom they proved to be a REAL friend. And that's their best friend.
It may seem weird, but I met my best friend in a very disastrous way. Well, it all started when we were in grade school. I was running late at that time, so I ran my way up the stairs to get to my arts class. And yes, back then, when I was running, I never seem to care if my laces are tied or not. And that's the problem.
I stepped on one of my laces and fell of the stairs. But before that... *rewind sound* I held onto a random boy's bag to prevent me from falling. But, indeed, life is full of expectation versus reality. I was kind of imaginative back then. And I thought that if I pull or hang on to something, it would save me from falling off the stairs. And the first thing I saw was that random boy of my age's bag. I held onto it, and instead of saving my life, we both fell off the stairs.
We were both rushed to the hospital immediately, and each of us got our surgery. I had a surgery on right hand, which, had torn ligaments since it's the first part of my body the had hit the ground; and he got his surgery on his left knee, since it also had torn ligaments because of the impact it made while falling off from the stairs. No one had a head injury, so thank goodness it was only a limb injury.
We were both in the same ward, only a curtain apart. And when we tend to peep onto each other, our eyes always meet. At first, I never bothered to talk to him. But I fell on my instincts and told him I was sorry. And that's when it all started. We both told each other's stories until we found out that we both live in the same part of the town in Ireland. We became really good friends. And when we got our permission from our doctors that we'd be home, we visited each other's houses frequently. We had most of our time talking at each other whether in school, at home, or through the telephones. We built a bond of friendship we knew would last.
But everything changed as June 2010 came. We were both sixteen, and he joined the X Factor. I remember how deeply he wants to join that certain singing competition, but he said he's waiting for the right time to join. And that was the time.
I was there in his audition day. I promised him I'd be his number one fan, and that I'd always be by his side no matter what. I think I'm still living in that promise up to the present, though a different time zone is drifting our worlds apart. He had gone through tours and travelled the whole world. I never imagine that this silly leprechaun of our childhood days would turn into a member of One Direction, the greatest band of the planet.
We remained in touch though his schedule was hectic, and that's what meant the most on our friendship. Though we never see each other through the line of the telephone, we know that each of us is listening, and at times our conversations are seemed to be endless. As endless as forever.

"Khim! Khim, are ya listening??" Hailee, one of my classmates, snapped me back to my senses.
"Yeah, yeah I am." I lied.
She raised her eyebrow as though she knew I lied. Then she continued talking about her crush. I never bothered to listen, since some of 'em are only repeated. I continued pondering about where would my friendship with Niall take me.
I went home immediately as the bell rang, and, as I biked my way home, I noticed that at the parking lot of Niall's family's house, a brand new car was parked. Well, they might have some visitors, so I cancelled my plan of visiting Aunt Maura.
I biked my way home and parked my bike at our small, simple garage. But when I was about to enter our living room, I noticed a pair of rubber shoes placed neatly beside the pot. I remembered Niall instantly. He's used to organize all his things, especially when he's not in his house. I smiled because of nostalgia, and entered the living room.
"I'm home!" I called out for attention, but nobody came to welcome me. Then I heard people talking and laughing from the kitchen. I went there to discover myself who were the people talking, and to my surprise, I saw the blonde blue-eyed man.
