writing an original fan fiction is possibly the hardest thing to do, especially when you can opt for simpler, obvious plots.
By this, I mean things like meeting at a concert, in a coffee shop, abuse.
There's nothing wrong with using any of these -i mean, I used it for my Niall fan fiction, which says a lot about me xD- but I've recently been looking at what makes fan fictions so enjoyable.
So in school, we've been reading this book, kind of futuristic, about gangs and living two opposite lives; yet the main characters fall in love, despite their different backgrounds.
I kind of took this and made it my own, with my new Zayn fan fic.
My piece of advice is to look around you, wherever you are, and see how you can incorporate that into your story - that way, you're on your way to starting a brilliant, cliché free story.
