Sam and Dean always let Thanksgiving Day pass without a care. Not this year, this year was definitively going to be different for you had decided that you would make a nice Thanksgiving dinner for yourself, the boys, Bobby and Castiel. With everything that you've gone through this past year, you knew you were seriously in need of some relaxing holiday time. Yesterday you had called up Bobby and invited him to Thanksgiving dinner. However, you hadn't informed the boys of these plans, thinking that it may be fun and better to surprise them.

So far, today hadn't been particularly busy or exciting. But, the plans for the evening grew nearer and nearer while the time to prepare for them kept on shrinking. As far as you knew, Sam and Dean hadn't found any appealing cases, which was a definite plus for the plans. They had just left to go on a supply run moments ago, kicking off the preparations for dinner. This gave you a few hours to finish with dinner and get yourself ready.

You pace through the kitchen humming the tune of Centuries as you find and take out several ingredients, searching hopelessly for the right pots and pans in an extremely messy drawer. All of a sudden, you can feel a burning stare pierce right through your body and a feeling as if someone is right behind you. With a quick hunter's reaction, you spin around using your heel only to come literally face to face with Castiel, your faces separated by only a few inches.

After letting out a relieved sigh, you flash him a quick smile, as you brush past him to get to the spice rack. Silence. "Jeez, Cas you really scared me." You spoke up breaking up the awkward silence, a speck of laughter evident in your tone. "You're early you know, weren't you going to join Sam and Dean?"

In response, Cas shakes his head and steps forward a few paces. "Much apologies, but no. I have no desire to follow Dean around as he makes references to movies that I don't understand."

A chuckle erupts from your throat as you nod in agreement. "Well, then try living dealing with him every single day." Brief silence, which you broke again by asking,"So, since you're already wanna help with cooking?" As you turn to face Cas, you easily recognize a shy bashful expression spread across his features.

"Well, I've never cooked before. So, I may not be a huge help, but if you like, I will try and aid you in this task, Y/N." He admits.

You return a smile, grinning like a fool and letting out a couple giggles as you point towards the sink. "Don't worry Cas, I'll guide you through it. I had a nice juicy roasted turkey, some appetizers, and a pie in mind. Why don't we start on the turkey?" You assure him as you dig through a rack of ingredients. Shoot. You curse a bit under your breath before saying,"Cas, I think we're out of olive oil. Sam and Dean didn't take their phones with them, even though I kept reminding them to do so. Idjits!" It surprised you how much you'd began to sound like Bobby when you got to the end. Suddenly, you were cut off for talking when Cas disappears and reappears almost instantly with a fresh bottle of olive oil clutched in his hand.

"Here Y/N, I just went and retrieved some olive oil for you." He said, handing you the bottle.

"Oh, thanks Cas!" you exclaim as you take the bottle and put it aside embracing him in a hug which made the angel blush furiously.

"Ok, so now that we've got the oil, I need you to cover the turkey with it. This might get a bit messy but that's alright." You explain as you hand him the olive oil. Cas takes it and obediently walks over to the sink and opens the bottle slowly with what appears to be every ounce of concentration that he possess, as if he were handling a radioactive chemical that was ready to cause mass destruction at any given moment. He pours some of the oil onto his hands, cringing his nose at the greasy texture. You preheat the oven watching his reactions. When he starts gently stroking the turkey, you couldn't help but suppress a laugh, which you hopelessly fail at. "Cas, it's ok, the turkey isn't going to bite." You assure him, as you let out a snort.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that." he mutters grouchily in response as he continues to rub the cold oily turkey. Soon after, the oven was ready and the turkey perfectly coated in oil. You tell Cas to wash his hands and to get started on the pie throwing an apron to him that read "I am the boss...while I wear this apron". You let out a laugh as you look over Cas in the apron and quickly place the turkey into the oven, beginning to work on the side dishes.

Time Skip---

About half an hour later, you had finished the sides while Cas had made a cherry pie with your help from time to time. You rush to set the table knowing that you have less than half an hour before Sam and Dean get back. You ask Cas to set the place mats and plates around the table, sending him back into deep concentration. He folds every napkin with great precision into a fancy pouch containing a set of silverware, like often done at an extremely fancy restaurant.

Finally once you've finished, you take off running out of the motel room into yours, the one right next door, shouting to Castiel,"I'll be right back. Gotta change. If someone shows up, just let them in ok?" Cas didn't even get a chance to respond before you were all ready out of sight. 10 minutes after you left, the door bell rings, Castiel still in the apron opens the door to find Bobby standing there holding a bouquet flowers.

As Bobby read Cas' apron, he let out a chuckle before saying,"Hey Cas, nice apron. Where's Y/N?"

"She's in her motel room getting ready for dinner, she should be back soon." Cas replies letting Bobby in.

Meanwhile, you had changed into a long lacy red dress letting your elegant long locks run free. You decide to apply a thin layer of lip gloss and some eyeliner before returning to the other room. Finding the door locked, you knock being greeted promptly by Cas and Bobby. "Hey Bobby!" you exclaim before embracing him in a hug.

"Yea, yea, yea. Nice to see you too, Y/N." he replies giving you the beautiful bouquet.

"Thanks Bobby," you say just before you hear a key opening the door and the boys walk in.

"Smells good in here." Dean immediately compliments right after he walks through the door. "Hey Y/N. Bobby? Cas? What are you doing here?"

"It's Thanksgiving, so I thought we should celebrate for once." You explain clearing up the confusion evident on Sam and Dean's faces.

"Oh, well then let's dig in!" Dean exclaimed gesturing to the table covered with freshly made foods.

Everyone sat down at the table, Dean already piling his plate with food. The pumpkin shaped rolls are all gone in a blink of an eye. Dean begins stuffing his mouth filled with them. "Ummm...Y/N, these rolls are the best. "he murmurs through his full mouth.

Half an hour later, most of the turkey, mashed potatoes, and other sides had vanished and now it was time for the best course of dinner...dessert! You had extra time after making all of the main dishes and side, so you made an apple pie as well in addition to the cherry.

Dean's face lit up immediately after you brought the pies to the table and his eyes sparkled. "Did you make those?" Dean asked you nodding towards the pies.

"Yes, I made the apple one. But, Cas helped me out with the cherry. He actually did most of the work on it. " You reply, "Do you want a slice of each?"

"I don't wan't to eat that." He mouths back nodding towards Cas' pie.

"Why not?" You mouth back. Being a total drama king, Dean gestures towards Cas, who at the moment is trying to cut Sam and Bobby each a perfect slice of pie.

"Just eat it already!" You mouth, cutting a slice of the pie and shoving it into Dean's hands.

Dean takes it and cuts a minuscule piece of it and over dramatically places it into his mouth and swallows. "Hmm...Cas this isn't half as bad." He compliments.

"Thank you Dean." Cas replies evidently proud of how his pie turned out.

The rest of the evening was spent chatting, telling stories, and devouring pie. You tell the story of how Cas cooked for the first time and how he stroked the turkey which earns laughs from everyone except Castiel. You wish that every day could be just as peaceful and relaxing as today and can't wait until the next time.

Happy Thanksgiving! :)
