While Georgia was having her phone conversation, in her room, I decided to have a look around the apartment. I started with the kitchen, looking in all the cupboards and seeing what she kept in them. It interested me how she had the money for a place like this with Italian furniture and top of the range technology all round the apartment. Most university students wouldn't have been able to afford half of this stuff. I had to admit that my gamer nerd side came creeping out a bit when I saw the most beautiful, distinguished piece of modern gaming technology, sitting on her glass tv stand. I saw she had a lot of fighting and racing games. Who knew she was such an undercover gamer nerd.
I could imagine the hours spent here, working to get from level to level, becoming feisty and frustrated when things got harder.
I chuckled at the thought.
Walking a little further into the lounge, I stopped to look at a a set of keys, complete with a fuzzy toy keyring thing, thrown onto the table as if it had become a regularity.I then walked even further, almost back into the kitchen. But I stopped at a small pinewood table. Edging closer to it, I noticed that the table was hiding something behind it, something sat between the corners of the wall and the table itself. Gently pulling it out, I couldn't help but notice the logo of one of the biggest video game producing companies in the whole world. Why would they be writing to a university student with an English major?
"Nosey much?" Georgia said, sounding really pissed off.
I quickly placed the paper on the table and stammered "s-sorry. I j-just saw it there and I t-thought maybe it had fallen down the back of the t-table, you know?""Don't lie to me." Oh shit.
It was silent for a while before she said, quietly "It's okay."
"It is?" I asked, astounded that she forgave my invasive behaviour.
"Yes." She stated, her face void of all emotions "It's only natural to want to look around where you're going to be staying for a while... What did you see, exactly?"
"Um, not much." I stated, lacking confidence. "Just the logo for beach body games. Why is one of the largest video game producing companies in the whole world writing to you?" I couldn't hold back the question.
She thought about what she was going to say, for a short while, before asking "how much do you know about the company, exactly?"
I thought about it. "A little. It's one of the biggest video game producing companies in the whole world. It brings in around 12 billion dollars a year. No one really knows who owns it."
She just nodded, silently and slowly.
"The company started with an investment of inheritance. It started with the making and production of lazor blades. That reeled in heaps of money. Ever since, the intake of money after the production of a new video game just increased, every time."
"How do you know all this?" I asked, exasperated by her vast knowledge of the company.
"Who do you think invested the money, in the first place?" She said, staring me straight in the eye with a knowing look.
