Chapter 1

Lucas POV:

"Hey riles!" I say as I come into her window seeing her do her home work.

"Oh hey Lucas!" She says smiling not looking up. God she's so pretty! I think to myself.

"What are you working on?" I ask sitting at her bay window.

" Oh nothing! Just finishing my homework....and I'm.....done!" She says smiling and looks up at me. " So what are you doing here? I mean not to be rude but you know if my dad finds you you will be dead!" Riley says laughing a little.

" I know! I just wanted to talk to you!" I say smiling. Riley gets up and walks over to me and sits next to me.

" What do you want to talk about?" She asks looking into my eyes.

" I love you Riley! And I know you are with Charlie but I have liked you ever since you fell into my lap on the subway!" I say with a smile.

" L-Lucas i-i don't know what to say!" Riley says shocked.

" Riley when I first met you I didn't know that I would care about you so much!" I say and kiss her forehead.
"Just think about it okay?" I ask smiling.

"O-okay!" She says nodding with a little smile on her face.

" I've got to go but I'll see you later city girl!" I say and then walk out her window.

When I get home I see my dads truck in the drive way. " Oh no!" I say sighing.

I walk into the house and see my dad sitting on the couch with beer bottles all around him. " LUCAS! YOU ARE HOME LATE!" he screams getting up.

" I know sir and I'm sorry!" I say. He comes up to me and punches my stomach. I fall down clenching it in pain.
