Chapter 2

Riley's POV:

I start getting ready for bed when I hear a knock at my window. Who is that? I think to myself. I walk over to my window and see Lucas with a busted lip and a bruise on his eye and cheek. " oh my god Lucas!" I say as I open my window.

" Hi Riles!" He says weakly. He comes into my room and then lays on my bed. " I need help!" He says with a shaky voice.

" Lucas what happened?" I say running over to him. I sit next to him and move his hair out of his face.

" M-my dad!" Lucas says closing his eyes and laying his head on my lap.

"What do you mean your dad?" I ask worried.

" he got drunk and beat me. I mean he has done it b-before but not this bad!" He says tears rolling down his face.

" Lucas I'm going to tell my mom! I will be right back I promise!" I say and kiss his forehead. I get up and run to my mom and told her every thing.

" Okay honey were is he now?" My mom asks worried.

"He's in my room!" I say and go into my bedroom to see Lucas trying to get up.
"Lucas don't!" I say rushing over to him helping him up.

" Riles I'm sorry I'm bugging you! But I really do love you!" Lucas says weakly.

" Lucas I love you to. But we can talk about this later! I told my mom and she's coming up with the first aid kit!" I say smiling.

" Riles can I stay here for awhile?" He asks frowning a little.

" of course you can sweetheart!" I hear my mom say coming in with the first aid kit!

" oh thank god mom!" I say rushing to my mom and grabbing it. " I'm sorry if this hurts!" I say putting a wet wash clothe and dabbed it on his lip. My mom left us alone.

" Thank you Riley!" Lucas says looking into my eyes sadly.

" Hey I love you of course I'm going to do this!" I say with a smile and then kiss his soft lips. Lucas kisses me back smiling. I wrap my arms around his shoulders deepening the kiss. I pull away and smile.

" Riley what about charlie?" He asks still smiling at me.

" He broke up with me!" I say shrugging. " but I have you!" I say and walk to my door and close it.
