Kissing A Holiday Cowboy

                                Christmas is all about joy. At least that's what I heard. The closest thing I have ever came to Christmas was when my mom got me the locker. She doesn't make a lot of money so we never celebrate Christmas. But this year I'm celebrating it with the Matthews and Lucas and Farkle. Lucas and I have been dating for a month now and it's been super awkward. I'm hoping by Christmas Day it won't be awkward and we will be a normal couple. Watching movies, talking, and being comfortable with each other. Lucas invited me over to his house today. I walked to the door with no jacket on, shaking. His mom opened the door. "Hello you must be Maya it's so great to meet you!" She said as she shook my hand. I smiled. She didn't seem like a legit country cowgirl lady like I thought. "Hi it's nice to meet you too." I said. She opened the door wider and let me in. Lucas came down the stairs in a jacket and a really jock look which did not fit him. He pulled me into his room. I was so confused. I waved bye to his mom and laughed. He shut the door behind him. "Lucas what's wrong?" I asked. "I don't want things to be awkward anymore Maya I'm sick of it I don't wanna end up like Riley and me being super awkward." He said. I nodded "Me too." I said quietly. I have no way to explain this like some fancy love story. It really wasn't. He just kind of kissed me for a long time. It wasn't romantic like in the movies or anything. It was just a kiss. Nothing more to it. Lucas smiled that cowboy country boy smile of his. Our faces were still really close. I saw this as the perfect moment to do this. I hahurr-ed right in his face. He looked down and laughed and kissed me again. We hugged and just hugged. "I love yo-" He started to say. "No I'm being the first to say his huckleberry. I love you." I said. He laughed and said he loved me too. Just a second later. Josh came in. "Maya........." He said. "Josh what are you doing here?" I said holding hands with Lucas. "I've been looking for you. I came to see you. He looked at me and I looked at him. We all just traded looks. I had no idea what to say next.
