It's December 23rd, and Ella is sitting on her bed, a bottle of Jack Daniels in her hand, and a blunt in the other; contemplating her life.
"I can't do this anymore. What went wrong?" she cried between tears "What's the point on living if we're all going to die anyway?".

I assume you're wondering how she got here, well. It started a while ago. To be exact, November 26th. Ella was walking home from school when she felt a tap on her shoulder,

"Ella!" She turned around to see the guy she's been crushing on since grade 8
"Brendan?" She reply's confused. Ella was in grade 11, along with all of her friends and Brendan. Though Ella had friends, she believed they would much rather hang out with other people than herself. Not much people come up to her willingly to talk. So for the most popular guy in school to come up to her and talk to her after school, was quite surprising.

Brendan smiled as he looked straight into Ella's eyes
"I uh..." he said nervously while scratching the back of his neck "I was wondering if you would like to go to the game with me tomorrow" Brendan said quietly.
Ella was confused at this point and thought it was a simple little joke him and his buddies were playing.
"What game?" Ella questioned hesitantly.
"The hockey game" He replied
"umm, okay" Ella replied hesitantly.
"Great, I'll pick you up at 8!" Brendan said with his gorgeous smile. Ella thought it could make any girl just melt at the sight of it.

The next day after school, Ella got ready and waited for Brendan to pick her up. She was also on guard to be let down; still thinking it was some sort of joke. A few minutes later, Ella was surprised when she heard the sound of the doorbell. She got up to open it and there he was, standing at the door, with a bouquet of roses.
"You know it's just a hockey game..." Ella said as she stared at the roses, her face turning red as a tomato.
"Doesn't mean I can't make it a special one" Brendan replied as he took her hand and led her out to his car, waiting by the side of the road. The whole car ride to the arena was too awkward for Ella, so they sat in silence the whole time.

When they got to the arena, Brendan took out two tickets from his back pocket and gave it to the man accepting them. Once they got through security and got their food, they went to sit down in their seats.
"I-I need to go to the bathroom, excuse me" Ella said about five minutes into the game. Her anxiety was sky rocketing and she didn't know what else to do.
"Oh, Okay" Brendan replied a bit disappointed as she was already walking up the stairs to the exit.
As soon as Ella got to the washroom it was already packed with people, but she managed to get into a free stall nobody noticed was vacant.
"This can't be real" she whispered to herself as tears fell down her face. "This is all too weird, what's happening?" she choked. "No" She repeated to herself over again as she put her hands over her mouth to attempt to stop the faint weeps. Ella forgot to take her anti-anxiety pills these past few days because she's been too caught up in her mid-term exams that it always slips her mind.

After a few minutes, Ella put herself together enough to go back out and sit by Brendan. She walked out of the restroom and made her way to the arena. As Ella was turning the corner to the doorway of the arena, she felt a hand slip onto her shoulder and pull her back. Ella panicked and put her fists up in defense mode, until she realised it was just Brendan.
"What the hell!" she squealed as Brendan let go of her.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to startle you" Brendan stated.
"It is fine" Ella replied, catching her breath.
"Follow me" Brendan said as he smiled at her. Ella didn't say anything, she just followed him.

After a few minutes of walking in silence, they approached a field.
"What are we doing here?" Ella asked
"I just-"Brendan hesitated "I need to tell you something" he said quietly
"go ahead" Ella said. Brendan looked up at her and couldn't help but notice how her eyes shined like stars.
"W-will" He stuttered. "Will you go out with me?" He asked and looked away, not wanting to make eye contact.
"What?" Ella asked, surprised at what he had just asked.
"I said that wrong, we technically already are on one. What I meant to say was; will you be my girlfriend?" he asked again, with hope in his eyes
"yes!" Ella answered a little too soon. "Great" he replied as a ginormous grin spread across his face.
