~This is my new story of a girls life through Hell. Literally. Hope you enjoy(:
I looked down at the city from the top of a building. Smoke was cloaking the city in darkness. People's cries for help filled the air along with the stench of scorched corpses. I breathed in the smoke and smiled. It pleased me and surely pleased Him. My eyes scanned the city below checking to see if there was any survivors. I blocked out every sound besides anything relating to breathing. I heard a human's breathing a couple blocks away. It was breathing fast and it's heart was beating at a really high pace.
I jumped off the building, unfurling my large, black wings. They surrounded me as I dived to the street below. At the last second i opened them up swooped over the cars that were aflame and and the others that were with me. I kept listening for that one human as i got closer. I landed softly at the door. I didn't have to do much to open it. It was already broken down. I stepped inside and heard the breathing stop for a second. I could still smell the weird human though. I sniffed the air. It was a girl, about 16 years old. She had the smell of humans, angels, and demons, which was weird.
I looked around the dark room. It was burnt and ashes were all over the floor. A reflection on the floor caught my attention. I knelt down and picked it up. It appeared to be a gold necklace that took the shape of a pentagram. I frowned but smiled at the same time. The human who wore this could have been great help. What a waste. I put it around my neck and walked up the stairs.
I opened the only closed door. Typical. It's not like that's not obvious she's hiding in there. I opened the door and walked in. I saw the girl hiding in the corner of the room. Something about her seemed different than the others.
"If your going to kill me, do it." She said, not sounding as scared as she should be. Her head down, tucked into her knees. (Sorry i don't know how to explain that sitting position thingy....) Her long, curly black hair surrounded her. It looked exactly like mine, but mine was more to the wavy side.
I just stood there. No human would every say that. They'd beg for mercy and say'd they'd do anything not to be killed but we ignored that.
''Look at me, child." I said. She kept her head down. I could hear her heart starting to beat slower.
"LOOK AT ME!!" I yelled. She looked up. My eyes went wide. Her eyes were black, like my own. I noticed two bumps protruding out of the back of her shirt. I walked towards her and knelt down. I lifted the back of her shirt. One wing was black and one was white. It was beautiful.
"My mother is a demon and my father is an angel. If that's what you were going to ask.." I kind of flipped out in my head. The opposite sides getting together forbidden.
"You're an orphan aren't you?" I asked, not trying to be to rude. She nodded again.
"Come with me," I said aloud then whispered to myself, "He'll want to see this." I grabbed her hand and pulled her up.
"You can fly right?" I saw some hesitance in her eyes. Her eyes are black but i can feel others emotions.
"Um.. I'll try." She said quietly.
We walked out of the building. I jumped into the sky and floated above her. She opened her wings that unfolded to an enormously large/long length. Mine were still much bigger though. She knelt down, took a deep breath, looked up and jumped into the air with enough force everything surrounding her feet were thrown across the street.
'Whoa." She said under her breath.
"Follow me,...." I paused because i didn't know her name.
"Kerri." She said.
