Zara's voice was almost as soft as a whisper. Only just loud enough to hear above the wind.
Ali watched as the wind played with her hair, blowing it in all directions. Silent tears streaming down her cheeks as she stared straight out into the sunset.
His heart ached at the sorrow in her eyes. The pain reflected in her deep emerald orbs burning a deep hole into his soul. It was unbearable. Seeing her in that state and not being able to do anything about it. It tore his heart into shreds. Which made him think ... He was hurting just seeing her like this ... While she lived that pain for years.
Ali made a silent vow in that moment to himself ... He couldn't do much about the past, but he'd make sure she'd experience so much happiness from there on, it would make her forget all about her past.
