Chapter 3 - The Mission Starts

KARLSTEN POV

I'm now travelling back to Finland as expected Ette was right about this. I just hope my Kitten is safe since we haven't spoken after I left the Barren. The plane landed and I have exactly thirty days to finish what I came here for as Countess ordered. I grabbed my luggage and made my way to the arrival gate and get a taxi to the lane. Glad there's not much people on the line because I hate waiting for my turn.

"Hi! Please take me to this address. Thank you." I gave the driver a piece of paper.

I made myself comfortable since it will take half hour to reach Ette's Company. First three days of arrival here in Finland will be meeting Ette's secretary and practice her abilities. I'm glad she gave me pointers whereas Countess hand me over the last task that needed immediate attention.

(FLASHBACK --- At the Barren)

"Karlsten I want you to begin your mission in Hezerka check if there's any human left or any unusual behaviour." Countess instructed calmly.

"What happened to the hunters, guards and the human prisoners?" I wondered.

"Most of them are dead while the human are back in the human world that was Ette's last condition to give their lives back. Did Ette tell you about a certain human with illness?" She inquired.

"Yes and her secretary's knowledge about us included." I relayed to her.

"She was very certain to trust the human for the reason I can't really comprehend but knowing Ette I trusted her words more than any other vampires out there.  Since I don't have access to the human's body aside from the name I want you to get her for me immediately." Countess ordered.

The conversation I had with Ette reminds me about the agreement. Her sacrifices were actually for her father and the humans.  

"Considered it done Countess." I positively assured.

"As an Elder, you have the advantage to live and act as human so it will be easy for you given the fact we need to be discreet you have to hide your true identity. Do you understand Karlsten you've been silent for a minute?" Countess shook me slightly.

"Countess forgive me it's just a lot to things in my mind." My tone comes out as embarrassment since my thought is with Ette's whereabouts.

"I understand you have a lot on your plate right now and this mission is topping it all. Believe me everything will be worth it and you will give Ette's death a justice." Countess encouraged me while I just stayed silent knowing what the real deal is.

"Thank you for giving me logical argument as always Countess." I bowed while masking my real emotion.

"Take this oil it's made from a certain herb to make you smell as human by using it the Hunters will not detect your scent. Just apply it like a perfume before going out your place." Countess hand me a bottle.

I admired her intelligence no wonder why she is the Councils head and our Clan leader. She can be fearless and relentless but can be timid and friendly at the same time.

"I better get my packs done since Andreas I meant Master's private plane will be ready in an hour." I get moving.

"Contact us soon as you get some substantial evidence or whatever you figure out. By the way find a place for you to stay while in Finland. Be safe." Countess words before taking the aura out.

(END OF FLASHBACK)

"Excuse me we are already here." The taxi driver pulled the meter down.

"Thank you." I paid and get off the taxi.

As soon as I got everything in my hands I entered my Chosen's achievement the Elite Highlands. The 10-storey building is made from glass and steel that definitely stands out from the nearby buildings around it. The shape is like half circle with an extension to the side that has 4 floors when I entered the premises I noticed the bottom half of the building is business area. The centre is rented space or apartments and the top belongs to Ette's penthouse. I can see the renting fees here are expensive because the location and views make them very desirable.

'My chosen is really something. I'm very proud of what she has achieved; I just hope I can tell her all of this if I know where she is.'  I uttered happily yet sad.

"Good afternoon! What can we do for you?" The front desk smiled courteously.

"Hi! Please send someone to take my luggage to the penthouse." I gave back the gesture.

"I'm sorry Sir but we can't allow that it is exclusively belongs to---" She was about to continue when I cut her off.

"You will never disobey me and tell everyone I am Mina's husband and your new BOSS." I compelled her.

"Yes." She nodded with a gulped.

"Listen to me because I will say this one time I am Karlo Johansen, husband and owner of Elite Highlands. I want you to inform 150 employees including yourself that there will be a general meeting within an hour at the Main hall got it?" I controlled her again. 

"Yes Mr. Johansen." She starts shaking.

"Now send somebody to take my belongings to the penthouse or I will have you fired immediately." I warned her and she was gone in a second.

After waiting for like two minutes I saw two men carrying my things leading me to the private lift. I pressed the button for the top floor ignoring them for the time being. At the back of my mind I can detect they have been watching my every move but didn't say any word. The elevator dinged and I fetched the key in my pocket for the front door. The two men standby while I'm opening it and plunged in the system code for the main switch. I mentally want to snap their neck but I stayed silent while they keep eyeing me intently.

"If you want to keep your job stop gawking at me as if I'm a burglar I own this place even the food you serve on your family." My harsh statement.

"We apologize Mr. Johansen it won't happen again." One of the guys said.

"Let this be a fair warning to everyone." I glared at them.

"Ye---es Sir." They both rattled. 

Human and their weaknesses sometimes I missed being one but being gullible to everything is not on my list.

"Place the luggage by the door I'm sure I know our place from the back of my hand." I gave an irritated tone.

"If you need anything we will be glad to assist you." One of them said.

"I'm sure I can take it from here. Now go you are dismissed." I waved my hand showing who the boss is.

"Have a pleasant stay Mr Johansen." They left almost stumbling.

I was finally arranging my clothes when I recall about letting Countess knew my arrival. Giving her the idea that I'm staying in some luxurious penthouse she was contented. That's better since she doesn't have to know about Ette's property and her existence.
