Thankfully, I'm naive,
Surely a partner wouldn't deceive?
Surely a family member wouldn't leave?
Thankfully, I'm innocent,
Surely a friend wouldn't hide that in my basement?
Surely someone wouldn't make such an unfair statement?
Thankfully, I'm gullible,
Surely he wouldn't think toying with my emotions is laughable?
Surely he won't expect me to be held responsible?
It won't happen to me, that's what I say,
No one will take advantage, use me, make me pay,
I've always lived in ignorant bliss,
But now, suddenly, I realize life's not always like this.
