Light. It can bring beauty in the dullest of times. Turn the world into an array of technicolour. It can bring life into the world. However, it doesn't always appear at the right time in someone life but it appears when needed, not when it's wanted.
It was a hot summers night; the grand castle , that glowed in the light of the full moon, was in a peaceful slumber. Not a soul to be stirred; a part from one. The little green eyed four year old was dancing with the wind in her hands. The wind twirled across her palm, it was as it almost wanted to join her within her steps. Quickly, she turned her head a t the sound of quiet footsteps padding across the floor; the wind disappeared from her hands and she jumped into her bed.
The door gently opened and a head peaked round. It was her mother; her mother was a very beautiful woman with her long, dark, brown curly hair, which was tamed unlike the little girls hair. She also had olive skin along with pale crystal blue eyes. Her curvy body was dressed with a long, flowy pale blue nightdress. The mother looked worn-out and pale.
She walked over to her daughter's bed and sat down. She spoke to her daughter saying "why are you still my princess? you know should be asleep". The little girl shied away and shrugged her shoulders in response. The mother then replied "My little girl, I must tell something...something important..." the mother never got to finish her sentence since outside on the castle grounds there was a loud bang there was a loud bang followed by a blood curdling scream.
The mother sprung into action and picked up into action and picked up her daughter heading for the south garden in hope to escape. The castle was under siege. The mother was running through the halls to get out before they got in. All she kept thinking about was if her husband, the King, was okay and did her six older sons manage to get away like they taught too. So lost in her thoughts, before the Queen knew it she was in the south garden.
The little girl knew something was wrong from the moment she heard the strange bang. She and her Mother were now running through the large south garden towards the safety of the woods. Shadows started to appear around them, without a second thought they were surrounded by the dark figures; one by one their faces emerged from the gloom around them. The little girl recognised one of them, she had seen him with her father before.
There was a blur of shouting and threats and the little girl stayed close to her mothers chest to hide her face from the dark silhouettes. The group of shadows started to move closer to them. Her mother slowly started to put her down behind her, keeping her close, and she spoke a defiant tone "don't you dare hurt her", they replied " well it's her we came for".
Her mother started to move the water gracefully around her attacking the shadows with a great force, after that its was all a great blur for the little girl, yelling and flashes of earth, fire and water. In a brief moment of clarity the girl watched her mother fall to the floor unmoving. She screamed out "mama" but it was too late, the body did not move.
The little girl began to scream with all her might...there was a flash of light.
The light appeared too late...
