One is created, one being, small and innocent. The being is a she, female, glowing bright with the energy the permeates all new life. She is silent, looking at those around her with bright eyes, clear mind.
Though this does not take place on our familiar earth, no, not this specific scene. This takes place far, far away, through universal veils, on a planet of energy with only a partial form, and this being is a being made almost entirely of light, as are all those with it. They each have colours, most a soft blue, and they had just taken the new being from the tree-like plant it had grown on, they had all grown on, originally. The Creator, they called it, though that little detail hardly matters to the story.
What matters now, is the new being was glowing a purple-brown colour. And the other beings were shrieking at it, trying to communicate to the infant that it shouldn't be that colour, it should be pink or yellow or blue or white, but whatever colour it was now, that was wrong. The new being, she did not understand what the older, more mature beings were doing. She certainly tried to understand, she expressed happiness they were trying to communicate, though that was met with her being tossed a few feet away. She experienced pain then, but it went away rather fast as she floated up, levitating as the other beings were. Then she tried copying them, screeching back, but that just made the older beings leave.
Now she was alone, though not for long. Two white beings came, seized her. This discomfort verged on pain, and didn't go away, as the two carried her between them, both maintaining as much distance as possible.
She was forced into a container, then. It was cold, and small, but the being thought she could get used to it if it was what the other beings wanted. She wanted them to like her, she was one of them after all. But then the pod was closed, locked. It was dark, the only light was the dim glow the small being let off. Then there was movement, and then it was cold, everywhere, so very cold.
The being felt alone, deeply alone. And a few cold, silent, isolated moments later, starving. The beings all drew energy from their world, they needed it to survive, it was part of them, and the new being was small and needed that constant input ceaselessly while she grew. But she had been sent away, exiled, and was using up the last of her energy.
This new being, young and innocent as she was, was dying. In a last, desperate attempt before she fell unconscious to reserve energy, she let out a feeble distress signal, one that faded out almost as soon as it started.

Zordon was a great wizard, and had done a great many things in his time. He'd explored multiple dimensions, dimensional gaps, dimensional rifts, and even explored a bit of space within a few of these dimensions. Spreading Good everywhere he went, just helping out and moving on, not yet bound to any one place. He was relatively young, and dressed freely but conservatively like the rest of his original population.
He and many others had been sent off though, sent off to find worlds that needed protecting, and to spread pure Good energy through the multiverse.
Zordon had recently finished groundwork on what he proudly called the Power Grid in his chosen universe, it gave structure to, channeled and contained the Power, something he had more or less stumbled across. It seemed to connect to the strangest of things, though always mighty and always worthy. Zordon was sure he could use the Power to protect his chosen world, Earth. He hadn't done anything to establish himself upon that planet yet, though. He was far too busy with the Grid, and with his recent accomplishment, he'd decided to take a break.
He was traveling, now, through the multiverse, when his scanner picked something up. It was a blip, small, only there for a moment, and feinter than an echo. But it was distress, and Zordon knew that even if it was a false alarm, going to make sure was the right thing to do.
