Chapter 4

When Cloudstrike awoke me at moonrise, I walked out and he said, "You should get some fresh-kill before we leave. I will ask Ashstar to wait until you finish eating." I nodded and he went off to tell Ashstar. I went over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a vole off of the top of the pile. As I was eating it, a cat came over to me and said, "My name is Ravenpaw. I am a fellow apprentice. It is good to meet you, Shadowpaw. I am going to the Gathering as well." Before he could leave I said, "It was good to meet you to, Ravenpaw. Would you like to share this fresh-kill with me?" He said, "Sure." Then, he crouched down and we finished the thrush together.

When we got up to leave, Ashstar came over to us and said, "Ravenpaw, can you show Shadowpaw the other apprentices when we get there? If you could, I would really appreciate it." Ravenpaw said, "Of course, Ashstar. I will show her all the apprentices that are there that I know." Ashstar said, "Thank you." and then she trotted off to lead the patrol going to the Gathering. I fell in with Ravenpaw and one other apprentice named Graypaw. She is pretty nice. I think that we could be best friends.

Anyways, we went to the Gathering. When we got there, Ravenpaw told me that it was called Light of the Moon because the light of the moon is the brightest here. That is why it was chosen as a Gathering place for the Clans. It is a really beautiful place.

Anyways, one of the leaders jumped onto a rock and called, "Let the Gathering commence! I shall share my news first. JayClan is fine with birds flying in the trees during every patrol. Every cat is healthy and every apprentice is training to the utmost."

Then, Ashstar stepped forward and said, "Thank you Talonstar. NightClan has a new apprentice. Shadowpaw is here tonight and we are great full to have a cat willing to join the Clan and train as a warrior. NightClan's prey is running well. Every cat is well rested, happy, and fit for each day." She stepped back and a new cat approached. It was a tom. He said, "I, Leafstar, leader of TreeClan, am happy to say that we have a brand new warrior and his name is Birchdapple. TreeClan is happy that he has learned the ways of StarClan's code and will always be loyal to his Clan and serve it with every breath that he has."

A she-cat stepped forward and said, "Thank you. PondClan is also happy to say that we have a new warrior too. Her name is Pebblefoot. That is all." Then, Talonstar stepped forward and said, "The Gathering is at an end!" Then, Ashstar gathered us after all the leaders had jumped from the rock and we went back to NightClan camp.
