The Children

Once there was a fifteen year old girl Lily who was babysitting a pair of twins called Ruby and Thomas, they were six years old. It was ten o'clock at night and the mother and father of the twin's weren't home yet. There still at the party maybe, Lily thought to herself. As Lily is sitting on the couch watching tv, she looks at the staircase leading up to the twins bedroom. She smiles at the thought about the sight of the children's sleeping faces, cuddling their teddy bears and snoring softly. Her smile stays upon her face at she turns her head back to the tv. Suddenly the phone rings. Lily gets up from the couch and picks up the phone.

"Hello?" She says into the phone. "Hello anyone there?...." Still no answer. All she could here from the other end was breathing and....Snoring? weird she thought to herself. She started to walk back to the couch but the phone started to ring again. she groaned as she walked back to the phone "Hello?" she said to the person on the on the other end of the phone.

"Have you checked on the the children?" The person said with a sinister voice. Lily was kind of scared but also confused at the same time. She paused for a few seconds to think of something to say to the man on the other end. She took a small breath.

"Who is this?" She asked.

"Have you checked on the children" He said once again. Then the phone hanged up.

Frightened and scared Lily called 911

"Hello this is 911, what is your emergency" The man said

"There's this person that keeps calling me and he is really starting to Fucking freak me out!" She expanded

"OK, what's your name and how old or you?"

"My name is Lily and i'm fifteen" she said

"Ok Lily, what does he keep on saying to you?" He asked.

"H-he keeps on saying " Have you checked on the children?" She said, panic rising in her voice

"Hmm, where gonna trace the call to find the person if he calls again, ok?. We just need you to keep him on the call for at least 30 seconds, ok?" He said, his voice fairly calm

"Ok" Lily's voice was shaking.

"What's your address?" He asked

"It's 20 Elburn Street"

"Ok if he calls again we will trace the call, Ok?"

"Ok" She said quietly

"We will call you back soon" Then the phone hung up.

When the phone, Lily picked up the phone and held it to her ear. She gulped.

"Hello?" she said

"Why haven't you checked on the children?"

"Listen you FUCKING CREEP, i don't want you calling this number again or i will give you a one way ticket to see your mother FUCKING GRANDMOTHER!!!" She yelled

There was silence................

"Have you checked on the children?"

"OH YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!"

She smashed the phone down ending the call.

The phone rang again. She picked it up.

"WHAT?!" she yelled into the phone thinking it was that creep again

"Its me again Lily" It was the 911 guy thank god

"Lily i want you to stay calm ok. There is a police officer outside your home we need you to go outside to the officer and he will tell you what to do." he said calmly

"Ok, let me just go get the kids." she said

"NO!...I mean no go outside to the officer." she was a bit taken back that he yelled at her but she did what she was told and went outside, There was a police officer outside, he went up to her and pulled her close to him and pulled out a gun and pointed it at the house, Turns out the phone call was coming from inside the house

Upstairs..........................In the children's bedroom .

Soon more police came to investigate the house. When they went upstairs they found two children hanging from rope around their necks and cuts on their lips making it look like they were smiling. And attached to one of the children was a note. The note said:

"Bet you wished you checked on the children."
