Chapter 5

~Lyric Greeley~

Ryan was locked up in his room. I wonder what's his problem. He wouldn't even feel my presence. He seems cold at dinner. After sulking himself in his room he keeps himself hidden in the attic. I want to talk to him... but were not that close for me to stick my nose in his buisness. But then again that evening something farely strange happened. I heard a knock on my door as I was reading new stories on wattpad. "Come in" I called out and Ryan's head popped out of the door. "Hey" he said and I stayed quiet. "Can I ask you something?" he asked me and I scoffed. "Aren't you asking me already though?" I told him and he smiled. He entered my room and sat on my bed making it rise up with his weight. "Am.... Am I such an embarassment to you?" he asked me and I could feel his eyes full of pain. "I-I... don't know" I told him with uncertainty. He kept his head down. "Arix dumped me" he said and I felt my eyes buldge out.

I didn't know who Arix was. She was a blank in my memory. I didn't even know my brother dates! "O-oh? she did?" I said feeling stupid. I thought this was about something serious.... but it was about girls. "She said she didn't need more burdens to carry" he said and I heard him sigh. "And that I wouldn't even pass her standards" he said and I felt bad for my brother. Who does this Arix think she is? some kind of golden goose? Then I heard my brother chuckle. "Well-" he said as he stood up. "-its her lost not mine! Night Ric!" he said as he strided pass the door. My jaw dropped at the stupidity I feel right now. Its like he just spoke to the wall and realized the wall can't talk! I was trying here!! But... its nice to know my brother is back on his feet. But hell do i wanna know who this Arix is!

School was back on but I'm not really that excited about it. Why cant they just make a three day weekend instead? But life goes on and poof I'm here. I was walking the halls hearing different stories from different students. Like Audrey talking to Lea about what she did this weekend. Lea saw me and waved a hand. I was about to walk over to them when someone grabbed me and turned me around. It was Allen my other bestfriend. "Where were you last saturday?" he asked not even bothering to say hi. I gave him a shrug and he gave me a glare. "The party Lyric, the one i invited you to and is like five blocks from your house?" he asked and i remembered the night I met Will. I totally forgot about it. "Oh" i lamely said and he frowned. "Oh? I was searching for you all over the place I even thought you were murdered because you wouldnt return my calls" he said his voice full of worry. "Well its nice to know Im so precious to you" I teased and he scoffed. "I just didnt want to turn to your parents telling them youre dead" he said not looking at me. I rolled my eyes at him "Whatever you say" I said. He walked to my locker and waited for me to get the books I needed. I saw his friend EricK approaching us. "Hey Lyric" he greeted and i smiled at him. "Len there are new guys here today and the other one is a douche" he said in a pissed tone. I scrunched my eyebrows at his statemenrt. "New students?" I asked and Eric nodded. Allen and Erick are popular in our school. They replaced the other guys -which I dont remember who- that moved out this school. All I know is one of them helped me out in the past. His name was Harry Fisher i think. "Who is he?" Allen asked running a hand through his dirty blonde hair. "Will Carter" Erick answered bluntly. I slammed my locker and felt like I was gonna puke. The two boys looked at me both in schocked expressions. "Im gonna go before this school turns into a massive black hole" I said angrily and walked away from them. I heard them whisper to each other asking whats my problem. What is my problem anyway? We had a really fun time yesterday so whats up! Ugh i just didnt want to face him, especially here.

"All student please gather at the gym for a special announcement" the vice principal said through speakers. I walked glumly to the Gym with everyone else. I sat beside Lea and our other friends. The gymnasium was in a buzz and some even barking with laughter. I scanned the place checking where's Will. But there was no luck, he's not here. The microphone from the stage made a noise that stung all our ears and everyone winced. "Aw!" Jenny one of our friends shouted. "Goodmorning woderful students of Sterling High!" the principal said. "We wanted to welcome this young man as welcoming as possible" she said and I was suddenly curious. Thing guy must be a totla big shot. "This young man's father is the owner of airports in Clearwater, prestigious hotels around the globe and worldwide banks" She continued. Everyone was at awe and even Lea gwaked at who this guy is. He must be really rich. "Mr. William Carter" she said and i choked. I felt like i needed to barf all of the sudden. And there he was walking in the most coolest manner. What an arrogant little jerk! Who announces their father's success and rubs them in other peoples faces? He might be the person I dreamed of but damn it! "Thank you for the wonderful introduction Miss Keninghton" he said and he just smiled at everyone. All the girls had eyes on him while the guys were takling dibs of who his friend would be. Then my eyes landed on a guy with shaggy black hair leaning on the side wall of the gymnasium smirking at Will and his little act. He shooked his head and walked out the gym.

"Could you believe it! he's so cute!" Lea shrieked at me. I just nodded. We were on our way to the cafeteria. "Who knows maybe he'll be taking me to prom!" She said. Still the same self centered Lea, thats one of her negative traits but she's a great person. "I dont know he looks arrogant" I told her and she chuckled. "Who cares he's hot" she said. If she only knew what he's like! That jerk even beat Simon in being mean. "Hello Ladies" a voice said behind us and we turned around to see Allen. "Oh wait a minuet theres only one girl here" he said and he laughed. Lea's face turned red and she punched his shoulder. "Shut your mouth Lakely!" she said and Allen shrugged. "hey its not my problem that you look like hagrid" he said and that one got me. I laughed with him and Lea glared at Allen. Lea is one of the hottest girls here in our school. Allen and Lea just dosent get along much, but Lea has a major crush on Allen but he dosent know. "Man I'm starving! come on Hagrid lets buy some food, Lyric you search for our table" Allen said and I nodded. I found a table but it was occupied buy a guy with black shaggy hair. "Hey Raiven!" I greeted him and he looked at me and smiled. "Well if it isnt Ms. Lyric Greeley" he greeted and he patted an empty seat. I took a seat "So... youre new as well i suppose" I said ane he nodded. "Yep Im now a knight" he said and i smiled. Our mascot is a knight and thats the school symbol. I saw Allen and Lea searching for me. "Mind if two more joined us?" I asked Raven and he nodded. "Sure no prob" he said and I raise my hand and called out my two buddies.

"Um guys this is Raiven he's a friend, Raiven meet Lea and Allen my buddies" I told him and he smiled and tt the two. "Nice to meet you guys" he said and they both smiled. "Nice to meet you too" Lea said. "Nice to finally meet you Collins" Allen said and smirked. They both took a seat they handed me a pizza and a bottle of bubbly water. Raiven was chomping down on a hoagie and Lea well... salad for her. "So how did you guys met?" Allen asked in a curious tone. "Well... its a quite long story" I tolf him and he just nodded. "Well i dont mind if its long I just want to know" Lea said and I laughed. "Well its Ryan and he got into this fight and blah blah I met Raiven" I told them. I didnt want them to find out that i knew Will too. "I walked her home" Raiven added and Lea smiled. "What time was this fight?" Allen asked and I bit my lip. "About midnight" i answered and he galred at me. "What did I told you about going on that streets at that late hour?" he said and here he goes. "Look I was on my way to the store and I heard a clank of trash cans and-" but i didnt got a chance to finish. "So you walked towards danger?! Lyric!" he scolded and I shrugged. "Well I'm pretty much alive" I debated and he narrowed his eyes at me. "So you'll only stop walking in the night when your dead?!" he said his voice flusterd. "And if i didnt? How about Ryan huh? Will could have killed him!" I shouted back and every one was staring at our table. Just as if right on Cue Will walked in and everyone ignored us again. Lea was looking at me shocked and so was Allen. "I-I dont want to talk about this... Im going" I said and stood up. I hurried out the cafeteria and sat on a bench near by. I faced the sun and felt the sunlight play on my cheeks. The silent russel of trees as the wind passed by. I could still smell the heavenly aromas from the cafeteria. I closed my eyes and listened to the peaceful sorounding. I hummed a melody and just stayed like that for I don't know how long. "Its peaceful" I whispered and continued to hum. "It sure is" I opened my eyes to see Will looking around. He was standing infront of the bench I was sitting on. The sunlight made his hair red somehow and his eyes shined. The wind made his hair go to different directions. He looked at me and I looked away. He was very good looking. I looked at him once more and he was looking at me with an eyebrow raised. He mustve thought I liked looking at him. "I-I... C-can you move I'm looking at the s-scenery behinf you..." what a lame excuse. He looked behind him and smirked. "You mean the garbage cans?" He asked and I felt my cheeks heat up. Shoot! what do I say now? "Umm... I-I... Look Britney Spears!" I shouted and he looked behind him. I took a run for it and I could hear him calling out for me.
